Return to Two Moon Junction

Savannah Delongpre is a wealthy fashion model living in New York City who returns to her small town in Georgia to visit her wealthy grandmother Belle as well as walk down memory lane to remember her childhood with some of her friends still living there. During that time, Savannah meets Jake Gilbert a rugged drifter/artist living on the property called Two Moon Junction owned by Belle and whose family has a feud with Savannah's for decades. Desperate to forget her stressful life, Savannah eventually begins a sordid affair with Jake, despite opposition from Belle claiming the man is not right for her or anyone. But Savannah's strongest opposition comes from her possessive boyfriend Robert Lee who later arrives and plans to break Savannah and Jake up by buying the Two Moon Junction property to evict Jake from the area.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Savannah Delongpre (Melinda Clarke) is a successful fashion model in NYC. She escapes the stress of her job and boyfriend Robert Lee to visit her grandma Belle (Louise Fletcher) in Georgia. She discovers that Belle had rented out Two Moon Junction and intends to discard the troublesome place. She finds artist Jake Gilbert living there. Gilbert claims that his grandfather was cheated out of the property. She starts out as combative and ends up in an affair with him. Belle tries to stop them with help from Robert Lee.The set up in NYC is stupid and tiresome. The movie could have easily started coming off of the train. I hate to comment on Melinda Clarke's body type but she doesn't look like a fashion model. She's not a stick figure. I am amazed that Louise Fletcher returned for the sequel. John Clayton Schafer has no personality at all. Melinda Clarke doesn't have the same innocent persona as Sherilyn Fenn. In fact, she's kind of bitchy for most of the movie. The original doesn't have much and this one has even less.

For two years this, and the original, sat on my shelf, because of the previous review. The movie isn't equal to the original, but it follows well enough. Melinda Clarke, although not a top name actress, has been on screen plenty of times. She's a decent actress, and has model quality beauty (which she plays in the movie!).The 'Fabio-wannabe' is a second rate actor. His counter part in the original was charismatic, where this guy is overly dramatic. His acting reminds me of a soap opera actor. A lot of this had to do with the director, blocking out cheesy scenes. The sex scenes are not as racy, or as artistically done. Considering the nudity in the first, I was surprised that this lower budget version had much less, and didn't start until nearly 40 minutes into the film. They even had a 'wet t-shirt' moment available under the water fall, and didn't.Overall, if watched back to back with the original, the continuity allows for a decent movie, with a decent story line. Watched all by itself though, there isn't enough quality directing or acting to say it was nearly as good.I give it at least a 5.0 instead of the 2.2 it had. 2.2 is no acting, no directing, and no story - far from the case here.

"Return to Two Moon Junction" is a horrible sequel to the underrated original, written and directed by Zalman King and starring "Twin Peaks" star Sherilyn Fenn. This one stars unknown no-talent Melinda Clarke as the sister of Fenn's character April who returns to find out that grandmother Louise Fletcher (what was she thinking?) Obviously the person who bought Two Moon Junction is some Fabio-wannabe with no acting talent what-so-ever. They then engage in corny, sudden, and silly sex. Blah. Blah. Blah.Horrible. OnE STaR
