Best movie of this year hands down!
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Open Water, you need an open mind for this one. To be fair, it's a difficult film to make considering the story line and the best was tried. There is a scene where the girl is wearing a skirt and then I the next cut of the same sene she's wearing trousers.
This one just add tacky drama. The 2nd is the best in my opinion.
I was lucky enough to have rented this garbage instead of purchasing. Firstly how the hell someone can come across an underwater video camera 20 kilometres out to sea and it was wedged into a rock ledge as well. What do they take us for? The next thing I hated about this movie was that it was in the found footage format. This is literally flogging a dead horse. The format has been used that much that it is becoming boring. The storyline just dragged and seem to be going nowhere. I am hoping that 47 Meters Down will be far more superior in content and acting. To the financiers behind the Open Water Series may I suggest you do something more with money that you are prepared simply throw away, you can throw it my way for the want of a beneficiary. To sum it all up don't waste your time and the electricity that you use to view this.
I remember the 80s when Part 3s used the 3D gimmick in their title. Sadly, today, for this "film" anyways, it's the found footage trope. Let's begin with: I loved the first two Open Water(s) – enough to buy them on BluRay in a two-fer set. That said, once I saw the title of this one, I immediately wondered how this "Cage Dive" movie was made due to the already filmed: 47 Meters Down. Good news! This has as much to do with a shark cage dive as The Exorcist has to do with Split Pea Soup.Basically, it's the first movie with three people vs. two and unbelievably shot as "found footage." Unfortunately, for us, they forgot the tension, suspense, scares and realism. It's the main definition of a direct-to-video sequel. And it barely clocks in at an hour and twelve minutes with major struggles to get to that enormously short running time.Love the first two, like I did and get scared for stranded swimmers, look elsewhere. This movie totally sucks and really suffers from same ole/same found footage clichés in absolutely terrible movies. Completely avoid these open water seas.***Final thoughts: I sincerely hope The Blair Witch Project's creators sue this film. Not only does it completely rip off that 1999 movie, but it even has one of its three characters named "Josh." Seriously? Just drown.
