Best movie ever!
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Within about 10 mins, you know there's something; a twist or a subplot coming, and when you see a big movie star as one of the characters, you know it's going to revolve around him. As soon as you know the previous story about the bank, you know what's up. It might have come as a surprise if it wasn't such a big time actor and he wasn't sporting that obvious 1980's cookie duster.Warning: SpoilerThe ending didn't make sense. It is not believable that the ghost robbers would be able to leave the bank they've been tethered to for so long, and if they were able to leave, it would be Franco's character that was trying to get revenge on the robbers, not the ghost robbers.Clifton Collins is an underrated actor and should have meatier roles.
Dear Humans, If you thought you have seen a great movie , it means you have seen maybe 6 ... seven at a push. Weak, poor acting and forgetable characters come to mind. James Franco brings to the table basically nothing, to be honest it feels like he takes away. He physically steals other actors ability to perform. That talet should be kept in a vault... and be frgotten foreer. K
So what if it's a little...check that...a LOT, incoherent. "The Vault" serves it's purpose as a mid-level bank heist horror flick chock-full of gross-out images, zombies and an apparently unkillable bogeyman. What more could you possibly want? Okay, except maybe the coherence thing.
THE VAULT is a B-movie thriller with a decent premise which mixes the thriller and horror genres quite well, in a similar way to FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. It starts out as a regular bank heist/hostage thriller, but soon moves into supernatural territory and becomes a mildly gruesome ghost story. The main problem with the film lies with the direction, which is never as good as it could be. The suspense is limited and the horror scenes anything but horrifying. What this does boast is a nice little cast which keeps you watching. James Franco is the star name but his screen time is quite limited; Taryn Manning and Scott Haze are the ones who stand out here, alongside an unexpectedly good Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint and possessing some of his quiet gravitas. And if the bank teller looks familiar, it's because she's the actress who played Pocahontas in THE NEW WORLD!
