Excellent but underrated film
A Masterpiece!
The acting in this movie is really good.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. The trailer is amazing and pulls you into a world you never experience. It is very boring and slow as the entire premise of the movie is about a girl building a relationship with a computer house. Sadly the antagonist AI created House program can simply be undone by repeating your question in a Stern mom voice. "What's upstairs? Tau... What's upstairs?" very casual acting and nothing surprising happened throughout. Definitely not worth the time. And I'm usually entertained fairly easily
Sorry but Gary Oldmans voice as the AI-Computer just put me off! I only watched 30 mins and could not finish the film, sorry but I love GO, always have and always will but he was mis-cast here, he's trying to do a weird voice which is just wrong. No idea how it ends, sorry.
Loads of fun to watch, super CGI, TAU is very well visualized and believable. Maika Monroe is strong in the lead while Alex is purely a secondary character. TAU and Julia are the leads in this film. I loved the drones, so cute and I could definitely use a few of them. Just watch the film yourself, and don't go by the negative reviews.
But then fell apart bit by bit.The premise of Tau is nothing new, but still interesting and it has a philosophical approach. Sadly the movie can't tell it's narrative very well. The story arc is clear by the first 15 minutes of the film - and by this time, it gets exhausting to watch. The script is lousy written and poorly executed. Every step is predictable. Although Maika Monroe does a decent job, there is no build-up and no tension. This movie is completely forgettable - which is a pity for this exciting and fascinating premise.
