Highly Overrated But Still Good
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
This is the best Spiderman film to have come out since Spiderman 2 but it isn't better than the first two films in my opinion. Nevertheless it's a good movie. This is one of the funniest Spiderman movies and takes a more comedic and high school movie vibe which does fit Spiderman very well of course. The action scenes aren't anything special and I've forgotten basically all of them but the dialogue scenes are great and funny, the ending as well is priceless.Michael Keaton as the Vulture is pretty good and one of the best MCU villains. Spiderman himself is good although the suit does have the Stark Tech upgrades which do take away from the original feeling Spiderman has in a way since he made his own suit originally. This does feel just like any other MCU movie overall as it has a really generic story and no real visual style or directorial style but it's still an entertaining watch and saved Spiderman from the awful Amazing Spiderman 2. This is my third favourite Spiderman film.
This movie was a mess, why was Iron Man in this and Peyter Parker wss a whiny and immature high school kid instead of being a strong intelligent hero. Yuck. The Films with Tobey Maguire were much better.I give Spider-Man: Homecoming a 2/10
Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and learns to use his new powers - to climb and spin web - for the greater good, in case you didn't know the story. Notwithstanding the technical artistry, visual effects and a solid enough storyline, the lead character could be construed as an over-excited portrayal of the Peter Parker character that older audiences are accustomed to - it's a teenage comedy. The main battle sequence does not stir and this is mainly due to the use of CGI which makes this look like more of a cartoon than a live action movie. All in all it feels like an inconsequential edition to the already marvellous film series at this stage. The set pieces are unremarkable but Holland's ability to capture the restless adolescent spirit that needs public affirmation is well portrayed. It will be a giddy treat for teenagers...but it will grate with some older viewers.
I tried my best to like and watch this movies as reviews on IMDB seems to be good but turned out they must have been by those Kids watching this movie and coming back to IMDB to write the reviews because they have been so excited to at last have found their type of superhero but sorry, real Spiderman is not supposed to be that. This Spiderman seems like 10 years old bad humour slave to the Ironman nothing without gadgets or is there something else in the movie ? I haven't watched the whole movie as it was really painful, literally very painful to watch first 10-15 minutes of the movie. I know time has changed but do kids these days really have that bad sense of humour ? and Aunt May ? I mean really ? I've had enough. Really sad. p.s. I especially "logged in" here the first time ever just to write this review as rating for this movie on IMDB seems to be not correct and looks like someone paying someone to write 10/10 review here or may these kids have never watched or read the comics.
