Truly Dreadful Film
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Security guard Larry Daley infiltrates the Smithsonian Institution in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is an entertaining, funny and full of adventure sequel to Night at the Museum that in my opinion is way better than the first in everything. Amy Adams and Hank Azaria did great in their roles plus loved Napoleon and Al Capone and that little Star Wars reference with Darth Vader was great. Once again the stars of the original film do wonders especially Ben Stiller and the late Robin Williams fans of the original will not be disappointed with this fun sequel. (10/10)
There have been a lot (well, nearly all) negative reviews about this movie, because I get a feeling the reviewers have missed a critical point... charm. And this comes from Amy Adams' portrayal of Amelia Earheart. I could not find a flaw with her performance. Her out-dated language, mannerisms, and yes, charm. Hank Azaria is the evil Egyptian king is just pure humor, if just a little childish, which adds to the humor. I liked the Tuskegee Airmen/Amelia scene when they first meet - a nice nod to both sides struggle in aviation. I just wonder if Amelia really was like this in person, because I would love to meet her! This is a fun movie, though some of the aerial sequences are far fetched (Wright brothers airplane scene did not fly like a fighter plane!), the Einstein bobble heads and Pi discussion are funny (look out for one of the heads bang his head on the table in frustration). All in all, ignore the negative reviews, sit back with the family or friends, and enjoy the cute story.
This is the funniest "Night at the Museum" film of the trilogy! Hank Azaria, Amy Adams, and Christopher Guest are absolutely hilarious! We rented this DVD, practically died laughing, then had to buy the DVD and have watched it many, many times and it never fails to entertain from beginning to end. One of the best scenes is when Ben Stiller (Larry) and Amy Adams (Amelia) jump into the famous "kissing" photo from V-E Day in NYC! Hank Azaria's Boris Karloff impersonation is a riot! (He has too many hilarious lines to make reference to here!) We have enjoyed all 3 of the Museum Trilogy films but this, by far, is the funniest! There isn't a dull scene in the movie! Highly recommend Museum #2 to anyone who loves great comedies - and Boris Karloff!
The first film was far from spectacular, but it was tolerable and a bit of fun to watch. I came across the second movie when it was shown on television and its terrible. It has been done once and wasn't brilliant, the producers really shouldn't have bothered with number two. The whole film is filled with terrible far-fetched acting. Every line just tries to include a joke that is not even remotely funny and frankly, leaves me with a blank expression on my face the whole time. The whole movie is just "trying too hard". Too see some pretty famous faces in it, is a shame as it is a real downfall in their career. i'm surprised I actually ended up watching the whole movie, maybe I was hoping it would get better. Evidently not! It is saying something when you are watching this movie with kids and they even turn round to you and say "Is this meant to be funny?" 1/10
