Moving on to the first prequel, George Lucas released Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones in 2002 which was again directed by himself. This time, this movie will be talking more about the development of Anakin Skywalker which constantly shows his downfall into the dark side until later became Darth Vader. Even so, the title itself has nothing to do with it because I don't see a story about "Attack of the Clones" itself which means it appears except at the climax. The misleading title has nothing to do with the whole story because that's not what they want to tell you about. As with The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones doesn't seem like the same in general but it's just a decent and average episode for me and there is nothing special. The Phantom Menace is, indeed, a prequel which is wrong and far from the connection of the whole trilogy of Star Wars. Attack Of The Clones has a slight improvement in its story. Apart from the misleading title, the story that was delivered was able to make it relevant in a film which was very intact and didn't seem to be non-sense secondhand conveying the truth. The main plot about the mystery who tried to kill Padmé was also an interesting part. However, like The Phantom Menace, this film is very impressed by, almost, no connection between its stories. In this film, we see a relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin which seems complex and predictable for the next episode, Revenge Of The Sith. Even though it is a good point in tucking in a sub-plot, from here, we have imagined how the conflicts about they don't trust yet help each other. The relationship between Anakin and Padmé is the whole story. There is no such thing as "Attack of the Clones" in the whole story except at the climax. This is too far considering that this is "Star Wars" but I don't know that George Lucas really likes this part. For the romance between the two, it feels dark, I admit, but it just feels awkward and wasting time at the same times. We see that they always say the same things as "I am a Jedi. Jedi cannot love, has no feelings, and no anger" or "We can't love each other because I am a Senator." The irony which is also the funny thing, the parallel story on the other side about Obi-Wan trying to find a bounty hunter is a good part while the whole story is actually just focusing more on the romance. The rest of those, there are some good points from Anakin's character development that feels emotional when little by little falls into the dark side for the one example when he finds his mother dying and his expression of anger and hatred just feels great. However, this part feels very quick and immediately switch back to the pointless thing. The saga part of the rest is also the most interesting aspect of the film but it just the same as the whole story, it feels monotonous. There are some of the cameos such as Boba Fett which appeared on the original trilogy. The good part about watching this movie is the duel between Yoda and Count Dooku which I think is the most intriguing and weird battle in the whole trilogy. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope has a tedious fight between a lightsaber and the whole rests just the part of the saga besides of it. A lot of people said that this is one of the worst and stupid lightsaber fight between the whole Star Wars trilogy.I find it amusing and weird at the same time because only in this part, you can see Yoda fight while the rest of the trilogy just looks as he is a puppet without visual effect. The used of visual effects in this series also feels the dependency between visual effects and the story. In fact, video games series which I've played are even better than this episode. George Lucas's ambition in making the prequel series seemed to slump just because he was more dependent on the visual effect than about what was successfully interpreted into the original story. I also didn't expect that he chose Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker even though it was better than before. His acting is quite well-done but the script seems like a cartoon or rather, almost everything looks like a comic rather than a movie.Since I liked Jumper, I sometimes see him as an emotionless character but I love his expression which always shows a terrifying gimmick when he meets with Padmé and when he falls into the dark side. Attack Of The Clones seems to be a great grain for what he has done after The Phantom Menace, after many critics who criticized the previous film. However, he seemed to make a plot that became so bad that it was even worse than The Phantom Menace even though both of them were like that for me.Attack Of The Clones is like switching to the sub-plot rather than the actual storyline. The sub-plots which explain Anakin Skywalker's development characters that fall into the dark side are the important thing but I don't know why they seem to be awkward and pointless. With a misleading title, I think this episode more impressed like a cartoon, has a visual effect which isn't much different from the previous. A film that is indeed easy to entertain and has a point that goes straight into the story but all of those seems to haven't reached the level of quality and characteristics of the original because there are many important things which are hidden.

While the first film was a disappointment at least it was a little fun. This film tries to be more serious in tone, but comes across as boring and dull. The first and last acts are a lot of fun and action packed, but the middle drags and feels longer than it actually is. McGregor, Jackson, Oz, Morrison, and Lee are the best performers in the film, the effects are good but feel more dated even compared to the first film. Christiansen is really disappointing as Anakin, sometimes he feels like he's doing a good job the rest, well let's just say he doesn't like sand. Portman feels like she's phoning it in but is still being professional about it. All in all the film is a lot like Episode I, it has its moments but overall underwhelming.
