You won't be disappointed!
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Best movie ever!
Absolutely brilliant
This had a better than average cast and a not so bad script.Jerry O'Connell has a deadline to decide if he is going to marry his girlfriend of 5 years or not. While she is away in New York establishing her career, he decides to see if dating anyone else will help him sort out his feelings. On the plus side, the movie doesn't follow all the clichés we would expect. There is a laugh-out-loud segment early on when Jerry O'Connell tells his friends a secret that we think is going to reveal his sentimental side, but goes in a different direction. There is a reoccurring theme about knowing oneself, which several characters are trying to do, but those subplots don't exactly end up where we expect either. This movie doesn't exactly get crude or crass, but it's not a sappy chick flick, either. Which means that it is pleasant enough for a couple to agree on for their next movie night, but that neither one is going to love it so much that they have to go out and buy it afterwards.
This movie is my favorite. It has so many truths and is hilarious. I recommend to any guy. It helps explain relationships. It also faces everyday problems with dating and finding the one. A must see for anyone between the ages of 20 - 40. Has some great characters kind of like Tomcats. The guy from Office Space, and others. If you like comedies you will love this movie. THere are a lot of one liners too that are very funny. Ryan Renolds is great too. I like how they explain dating problems and finding "the one". THe movie flows very well especially when Ryan thinks he is gay!lol and the flashbacks at the airport.
We all know the phrase "buying the cow" and this movie does a pretty good job of giving some different views on why one should commit or not. Ultimately, though, there are too many silly scenes and stereotypes that end up appearing stupid as opposed to humorous. The film does offer a few chuckles, but unfortunately too few to make the film worthwhile. Some scenes remind me of "There's Something About Mary", but there are just too few funny times. I think if the stereotypical situations went way out there, the funny scenes could really provide a good laugh. There are a couple unexpected twists, and that keeps it interesting. Also, it's great to see the World Trade Center in the NYC skyline.I saw this on a local cable channel, and am glad I didn't rent it. I wouldn't have felt that I'd gotten my money's worth. There are plenty of other good dating movies to see. This wouldn't be one of them.
I really didn't like it very much. The whole movie is about NOTHING, the film hasn't got any idea. To tell the truth, it was some faint resemblance to the idea in the beginning (about comparison of women, cows, fishes and about the constant `How To Live?' question), but it completely disappeared. Also, don't you think there are so many movies about `skirt-chasing expeditions', `gay/not-gay' decisions, hopeless persons and stag-parties etc.?! This film would be almost OK, if it were first/second/third/. movie in its category, but now it is just next to nothing. Moreover, the film has no ending. It is a pity. So, 3/5 or 6/10.
