Doom
A team of space marines known as the Rapid Response Tactical Squad, led by Sarge, is sent to a science facility on Mars after somebody reports a security breach. There, they learn that the alert came after a test subject, a mass murderer purposefully injected with alien DNA, broke free and began killing people. Dr. Grimm, who is related to team member Reaper, informs them all that the chromosome can mutate humans into monsters -- and is highly infectious.

As Good As It Gets
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
I saw this back in 2005, and I'm just copy and pasting my review from my old account.I wasn't expecting any sort of plot from this movie. I knew exactly what I was getting into and going to get. I was right in that I didn't get a sensible plot, and I got marines blasting at baddies. However I also got humorously bad acting, poor dialogue, unconvincing sets, weapons that look like toys, stupid decisions by the characters (ie. when the rock refuses to call for reinforcements - not to mention the various "you'll be OK alone right?" moments), clichés up the ass as mentioned by another poster on this bored (ie. the dark brooding character who's inner torment keeps him alive). This movie was just bad, even for what it was. It has two cool parts in my opinion. The opening scene, and the part where the monster gets stuck in the nano door. That's all I remember. Go rent Aliens.
Space Marines are sent to investigate strange events at a research facility on Mars but find themselves at the mercy of genetically enhanced killing machines. Doom is one of the few Dwayne Johnson films that i never got the pleasure to see the time that they were released or at least some years later now i just finished the film and i gotta say it was pretty "Ok", i loved The Rock playing a crazy Marine and Karl Urban's First Person Shooter Scene although a bit weird it was quite fun in general. The acting is pretty good and the monsters look realistic enough, the dialogue is cheesy and most of the time the film is pretty dark something along the lines of AVPR. It's not a perfect film it drags at parts and it's kinda boring at others but the acting is really good and i loved the fact that the Rock got to play the bad guy for once in his career and his transformation was pretty damn cool and honestly this movie isn't that bad it's not a masterpiece but it isn't that bad if you don't take it seriously i think you're gonna have fun with it. (6.6/10)
It could have been a great movie. Good soundtrack, good overall theme, decent actors, but the movie still fails. It's because the script is so stupid, and it had little or nothing to do with the original Doom's story. These zombies are not from hell, there are no demons, no demonic bosses etc. There is a mutant which is similar to Hell's Knight, but it's still different, and we know that it's just a genetic mutation, so it's not scary at all. In the original Doom it was scary because these creatures came directly from Hell with a portal. And the Rock shouldn't be the villain in this story.
This movie must be rated at least nine out of ten since the cast is well- suited for an action film, the plot is coherent and bears resemblance to the original game and acting is , in contrast to what other critics say, is actually awesome. The psychological and physical struggle between The Rock and Urban is well told throughout the movie, thus the climax is their final fight. Overall, a good plot and characters make a good sci-fi action adventure movie. This film is definitely worth watching twice.
