Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

Brilliant and touching

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

I Can't believe the high ratings about this movie. The direction is horrific, the acting is even worse and after sitting through 2h11m of what could have been at least a rescuable story it is destroyed by and ending that is sooo bad your tv might not survive your remote smashing into it. Do yourself a favor and skip this crap

After watching so many suspense thriller movies from different language movies, i can say that this is the best suspense thriller movie i ever have watched. A movie remained in my mind for a long time and still and make me think about the mystery left over for all. All amazing performances, best direction and best cinematography.

MEMORIES OF MURDER is much more than just another serial killer story; this South Korean thriller is a movie of real depth, a genre-transcending tale that shines a light on social and political issues as well as presenting that country's police force in a typically unflattering light. The main story of the tale is also interesting, as is the complex back story, and although slow-paced this is one of those films that creeps up on you to become gripping by the end. Song Kang-ho leads a great cast, but the real star here is director Bong Joon Ho, who followed this up with the equally great THE HOST and SNOWPIERCER.

In October 1986, a young woman is found raped and murdered in a ditch near a field. Soon after, another woman is found raped and murdered in a field. Local detective Park Doo-man, not having dealt with such a serious case before, is overwhelmed; key evidence is improperly collected, the police's investigative methods are suspect, and their forensic technology is near non-existent. Detective Seo Tae-yoon is sent from Seoul to assist them; their methods clash and he is unable to convince them they are dealing with a serial killer until his predictions of another murder come true. He realizes that the killer waits until a rainy night, and only kills women wearing red. A female police officer realizes that a local radio station is always requested to play a particular song during the nights the murders are committed.
