Sadly Over-hyped
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
I watched this movie after somebody said it's similar to Event Horizon. Is it? Well, it's in the same vein, using inter-dimensional travel to create the horror of "unknown".. but the "horror" isn't really that horrifying.Don't get me wrong, it's still far more competent and entertaining than the pile of sh*t that Prometheus and Alien: Covenant were. Just don't expect it to match Event Horizon.Primarily because, like with most directors/writers, in Infini, they make the mistake of trying to explain too much. Even bigger mistake is to show the enemy itself, but then it'd have to be a psychological horror, which this ain't.Also, I would've preferred they had ended the movie when the hero "wakes up" (not a spoiler) instead of them showing more. It'd left the ending up the interpretation, like they say they wanted to.. but I don't think it does. Kinda explains pretty clearly what happened and who changed and why. Kinda disappointed in that.Oh well, still a good movie. Worth watching.
I actually put off watching this movie for 2 years before I finally bit the bullet. I felt the story line was too Cliche, I'm tired of Zombies and Body Snatcher movies. That being said WOW!!!!! I was totally blown away by this movie. I went a tad bit overboard with the 10 due to all the negative votes but it is clearly at least a 9. I can't go into details because it would spoil the ending but WOW, Clearly Amazing. One of the best Sci-Fi space movies I've ever seen.I recommend watching this movie.
No original ideas in this movie. Space troops transport to creepy space station, find dead people, get infected, become space zombies, get killed, get re animated and cured and back to earth. Plenty of fake blood, screaming and flashbacks/hallucinations? Lame!
Now here's an Aussie movie that make you ashamed to be Aussie. If you have the fortitude to sit through this and work out what's going on, then your as foolish as this film maker. You know it's going to be bad when a movie starts with several long written explanation cards trying to set you up for what's about to happen...It's about some top-end elite space rescue team who are jettisoned into a super-deadly toxic situation - then remove their protective clothing - enter deadly infection. Next thing we know they all begin to bash the living tripe out of each other, at the same time as trying to out-swear a swear-fest - I mean this is non-stop 100 decibel verbal and physical abuse - the writer/director is probably hoping you will forget to notice the lack of solid story line. It's the 23rd Century and here they are running around with space guns that look as if they came from a two dollar shop and much of the internal space craft equipment runs on old rubber belts. Most of the computer screens are 70's type mono-tone green - how coool is that!. This filmmakers name: Shane Abbess, has to go on the top 10 'must to avoid' lists. If he/they make it big in America it will be because of the comic-book mentality. Run, hide, before you loose 2hrs of valuable time you could invest watching a true classic re-run. To think Australian tax payer 'Arts' fund money went into this abomination...who chooses these projects, and who keeps them in a job?. Beware of the loonies who raved - lest you become one!
