I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Starsky and Hutch is a great remake of an older television show. This is a frat pack movie and most of them are here. Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller play the titular character and although not over the top funny they are a good mixture of drama and goofy fun. The cameo from Will Ferrell is a highlight and Vince Vaughn is great as the bad guy. This was made at the height of the team's output. This is a great Sunday evening movie.

If you're a fan of the original series and not interested in seeing it parodied, I suggest giving this movie a miss. There are various "golden oldie" songs throughout the movie which were enjoyable to listen to and sing along to but some of the footage that accompanied these songs seemed overtly and unnecessarily sexual. The characters of Starsky and Hitch seemed considerably less concerned with fair play and honesty than the TV series' counterparts. The highlight of the movie was probably the cameos of David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser in the last few minutes of the movie. Amusingly, Soul's character was dressed identically to Wilson's character, as were Stiller and Glaser's characters, Glaser and Stiller in Starsky's leather jacket and Soul and Wilson in Hutch's standard style of outfit. There were a few clever gags (literally a few, three, I think) but some of it was rather obnoxious and parents should be warned, like many remakes of old/older stories/series, a lot of this is NOT suitable for children or young teens. The TV series is suitable for a fairly young audience but I'd probably prefer not to show the movie to under 15s.Starsky's character changed throughout the movie with no really clear reason why. I found this bizarre.I've been there, watched it, and am unlikely to ever bother with it again.

This movie could have been a lot better. Actually, some scenes turned out to be quite funny, while some others -which were intended to- didn't really make me laugh. Me. Yet I have to admit that those two guys have such good chemistry and that can be seen in many other movies but I believe this is the perfect example. They are the perfect cop-duo, who work together and end up making some hilarious moments. Especially Owen Wilson was bloody perfect. I admit I expected a little more action- oriented film with more action scenes (with action scenes I include more Gran Torino) but it was just fine. But I want to point out again that Gran Torino scenes were pretty limited , and the only part I really enjoyed Gran Torino was in the ending tittles of the film (aerosmith ftw). For me it just wasn't enough. Overall, it was a pretty good and enjoyable movie, so you surely won't feel as if you are wasting your time, and maybe you'll want to watch it again and share it with your friends like I did. I would really like to see a sequel shame it didn't happen.. P.S. I didn't watch the movie because of the series. I actually found out their existence after I saw the movie. But the moment where the original ''Starsky & Hutch'' show up was very good and well planned and although it might have confused some (including me) it felt quite good. I also say that so that you don't think I compare the movie with the series. PS 2. I didn't know that Snoop Dogg could act so well. I found his role pretty cool.

Having seen this many times already, I still wonder how else it can work when you have a popular TV show adapted into a movie and being directed by one of the best comedy directors out there today. Director Todd Phillips delivers a very funny adaptation of a TV show and makes it his own, but it wasn't all him.Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are the best choices to play the title duo. Stiller channels Starsky's emotions really well. Wilson does an excellent job of being the laid back Hutch. Stiller & Wilson show once again that they can do a great job working together. What they do best in their roles in showing their great chemistry is how they play off of each other without missing a beat.Vince Vaughn is great with re-teaming up with Phillips as a bad guy who has shipments of cocaine coming in. He shows how relaxed he can be knowing that he is talking to cops.Snoop Dogg appeared in Phillips's Old School and steals the show as Huggy Bear. Huggy Bear is a rich informant who is really good friends with Hutch. As he says, "I lay it out for you to play it out." Rounding out the cast is Jason Bateman, Juliette Lewis, Carmen Electra, and Amy Smart. They all do fine jobs, but aren't given much to work with.Phillips made one of the TV adaptations into a movie in the history of cinema. He knows how to take a simple Starsky & Hutch story and make into something fun and easy to follow for people who have and have not watched the show. What I liked best was Phillips's storytelling ability of making a completely different story based off of very popular characters. Phillips does a great job of making a re-imagining of Starksy and Hutch.
