This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

Listen up, this may not be the best movie of all time, but is is one of my favorites. This is an important difference to make out, because while this movie is filled with some cheesiness and bad acting and plot holes, it's so warm-hearted and awesome that i love to watch this movie. This movie would be nothing without Matthew Mcconahwgagysbnskalap, who kills this role. The final monologue is great for a rom com. In terms of rom coms, this movie is a classic for how great it is to watch and it is my favorite of the genre, sure it doesn't have the best cinematography but at its core, it has a cool idea with Mcconagwudkodpabhsidn in a great role for him that really goes at the roots of what love is. This is a great film

What would Charles Dickens think if he could see his work, his masterpieces manhandled in such a reckless way?Quite obvious for all to see, "Ghosts of girlfriends past" is just another pathetic rip off of "A Christmas Carol", yes there's enough differences to make this film unique in its own right, but there's no denying where the blatant inspiration came from. 'You will be visited by three ghosts...' yeah-yeah we all get it, only these three ghosts are of course not the ghosts of Christmas, but the ghosts of former girlfriends, sounds pretty lame right? That's because the film is as lame as it gets, but enjoyable all the same. Trying to become a serious actor, Matthew McConaughey takes a series bump in the road and a serious dent in the resume by taking on the role of super-stud Connor Mead..., a guy who is now an Academy Award winner and genuine leading man should realistically be avoiding films like this because they are somewhat beneath him. Yet here we are, his performance was pretty decent in all honesty, but could he have afforded to give any less? It was McConaughey's A-list performance that gave a real boost to the overall film, for I felt that without him the film wouldn't have been anywhere near as good it was, and the film as it is barely gets a passing grade. Michael Douglas as the dearly departed Uncle Wayne was another standout performance, Douglas really didn't need the role but at his age I guess he can do what he wants, he's earned it.Sadly I felt that Jennifer Garner wrote her performance in and didn't truly seem committed to the role, something she seems to do in a lot of her films and probably the main cause for why her career has probably been held down. Out of the supporting cast there's a recognisable name, a youngish Emma Stone has a semi-important role, this of course during the early days of her fledgling career, she would of course go onto bigger and better things; as for the rest of the supporting cast, there's a who's who of who's that? Character actors of no real fame getting lucky by landing a role in a mainstream production, some were okay, some weren't, nothing to write home about. "Ghosts of girlfriends past" can easily be defined as a chic-flick and that's basically all it is, don't expect any major thrills but it's an easy way to kill an hour or two.

I decided to write this review because I felt it's unfair for the movie from the negative comments and ratings it had.First off, as other commenters said, this is a romantic comedy movie, I think this movie served this concept in a very well manner. The idea is new, nicely presented, well written and directed. It comes to many young men, or middle age men to be like the main character in the movie (Conner meed) Matthew McConaughey, to have many womens around, having only FUN with them, be successful and so on. and that is for sure what the new generation dreams of!, However this movie shows the consequences of such a life in a funny, simple and well presented way. It shows how important to have a constant partner with committed and respectful relationship, not only touch and go!I like the story plot, the scenario and even the visual effects are really good and serves the movie.Good work for all characters in the movie and the directing was very very good.

A lothario who can get any woman he wants is visited a la 'Christmas Carol' by ghostly figures of old girl friends and his uncle who taught him everything he knows. Of course he does not like what he sees, especially his 'meant to be girl from the age of 14,' whose heart he has broken. Guess what - he repents after that night. Along the way there is comedy - a truly excruciating performance from Matthew Maconaughey, a neat cameo from Michael Douglas, and a subdued thesping from Jennifer Garner as 'Tiny Tim.' There are some good lines, some delicate pokes at the reality behind romantic, so called strong, women for blokes to guffaw at, but it is not a work of genius or up there with the best rom coms. And for those grotesque US women critics who demand that Jennifer Garner's character becomes strong and gives the lothario what for - remember it is 'Christmas Carol' not 'The female Eunuch!!!'
