Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
OK, synopsis, meteorite {not meteor} hits the ground in an American town where a house party is about to take place. A bloke arrives back to see his girlfriend take place in a fencing competition and for some odd reason then sticks his tongue down the throat of the girl who just beat his girlfriend, she is obviously hacked off, forward to party. The meteorite has caused a time shift where the party goers have doubles who are 15 minutes behind, at each light flicker the doubles catch up. I have given it two stars for the idea, this is a film which is a cluster... it is not scifi, not horror, maybe a frat house movie but just has goes nowhere, at times we are hinted at a back story which might have saved the movie but this is never developed. Having Natalie Hall get her kit off does not even save this movie.
On paper—or in text form on a computer screen—"+1" is interesting and is immediately promising all kinds of potential for a strange and potentially terrifying odyssey. While it was decent, it didn't quite pan out and hit the expectations I had for the film. While the foundation for the story is interesting as a concept, the story itself is pretty sloppy and lacks a lot of development that it sorely needed. Characters lack any real defining characteristics and aren't developed as strongly as they need to be. Additionally, the story itself can't quite decide who to focus on or how to unfold at a pace that doesn't feel like it is needlessly panning itself out or like it is lost with no real clue on where to travel next. These matters aren't helped by some pretty subpar acting and special effects that are just barely passable. However, even with its problems, the concept of "+1" is pretty cool and when the story actually has all of its stuff in order and in pretty little rows, it plays out nicely and took me on a strange mind-trip and left me pondering the events that I witnessed as the credits rolled. As it stands, "+1" feels like an adaptation of the first draft to the film's script and it makes the film pretty average but also pretty watchable. There's no point in denying that I thought it could have been a lot better but, with the nature of its story, it could have easily been a lot worse.Salutations, fellow IMDb-er! My name is Rev. I love it!!!! I love the idea of meeting one's self. I only wish the party goers looked at themselves with love and friendship rather then being scared and thinking they wanted to hurt them. I know many of the guys would love to be with twins. This movie could have made that happen, please make a second one with all the same actors. I hope there will be a sequel!!!!!!! This movie was fun to watch, fun to be involved in a weird event where the past catches up and you can actually meet your past self or your past self meets your future self. Absolutely one of my favorite movies, the production its self was fantastic, all the crew and cast did a wonderful job. This movie should have been in theaters around the world and should have had more publicity. It deserves it.
Setting: upper end high school, privileged teenagers, little supervision, too many resources available, huge expensive party for these wastrels.A meteor comes from space and lands somewhere nearby. It gets into the electrical system. After some analysis, it starts duplicating people. At first no one notices. Then there are some odd situations where a person sees another person and their duplicate. For a horrid interval, there were a dozen or so simultaneous fights to the death. There are injuries and fatalities. Then there is re-integration when both copies still exist. A few feel great to be alive; many are still reeling from the horror with blood on their hands.------Scores------Cinematography: 8/10 Mostly OK, except for some of the low light scenes.Sound: 4/10 Unbelievably poor.Acting: 5/10 Not very convincing, except from the actors who looked like they were 25 to 30 years old.Screenplay: 7/10 Fairly good what-if movie.
