The Killer Inside Me
Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford is a pillar of the community in his small west Texas town, patient and apparently thoughtful. Some people think he is a little slow and maybe boring, but that is the worst they say about him. But then nobody knows about what Lou calls his "sickness": He is a brilliant, but disturbed sociopathic sadist.

Good movie but grossly overrated
While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Bad acting, bad directing, bad writing = predictable and not good. Don't waste your time.
Texas, 1950s. A Deputy Sheriff starts a relationship with a prostitute. She becomes a pawn in a game of revenge.Good, but not great. I was expecting something between American Psycho and No Country for Old Men, and to a degree it is, but it lacks the character depth, intensity and watertight plot of those two great movies.Great performance by Casey Affleck, showing once again that he is the more talented one in the family. Supporting cast are fairly mainstream and thus lacklustre: Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba are not there for their acting ability, Simon Baker is distinctly out of place and miscast.
If this film is marked by nothing else, it's poor quality. Poor acting. No, I don't find Casey's poor excuse for a Texas accent convincing. Nor do I find Kate's or Jessica's performances very convincing, not that it says much. I mean, what do you expect from those two? They're not exactly the type of actresses one would cast in a role which requires authenticity. But that doesn't even scratch the surface regarding how inaccurate the film is in terms of its appearance. Alba doesn't strike me as a convincing Texan during this time period. One may look to the goofs section to see what other errors were made during filming. I know this is a low-budget b-movie but the glaring inaccuracies cannot be overlooked. In terms of a b- movie, TKIM is okay. In terms of a feature film it practically sucks. Too much confusion. Like many other people, I thought the child Lou was in the back of a car with a boy. The shot was so quick and I didn't care to freeze frame it to determine whether it was a girl. I don't recall the film making it clear enough who the chick was who gave Lou lessons in BDSM, lucky devil. I bet every straight guy who watches this film wishes they had childhood experiences like that! I do!! Overall, there's nothing remarkable about TKIM except, perhaps, the excessive violence. I don't object to violence in film but I believe the Joyce beating went on too long and was entirely unrealistic. Even a little pussy like Casey Affleck would knock down a chick with a few punches ... or less. How can Joyce just stand there and get clobbered? It's unreal. The actors and director took no care to make the scene look realistic, but instead let it drag on too long, eventually showing Joyce's grotesquely disfigured face. I didn't like the book either. It's not that it's a terrible story per se, but the book is the textual equivalent of a b-movie. It's terribly written. Some have referred to the book and movie as "noir" but they lack any of the elements we would expect to see in noir, except, perhaps, the time period, and Lou Ford's deep cynicism.
This film was boring and unsatisfying on nearly every level. Kate Hudson and Jessica alba gave mediocre performances and the film was so Slow. I get that it's a suspense film but this one screws up royally in my opinion and I did not like the graphic violence of the women either. The film told its story in a very slow and sluggish manner about a man who seems nice but really he is evil. Further more I should also add this film annoyed me!!. I can't believe this is a film people love!. What is there to love about it? The violence to women???. I'm sure women beaters would Love this movie! Because there is a lot of women hitting in it!. A lot of the scenes were filled with pointless violence when it was unnecessary and I should also mention the women did nothing when this psychopathic man starts hitting them. Jessica Alba's character just stands there and does NOTHING and let's him hit her repeatedly!. What the hell was she Doing???. This movie made no sense at times and I didn't care about the characters. Jessica alba and Kate Hudson's characters were not developed well and the only character I did like was a detective character played by Simon baker. I like Simon baker and he was the best part of this movie!. It's a joke this film is even classed as a thriller, what was thrilling about this film?? Nothing was! That's what. It's a film about women being beaten and killed and there is Nothing thrilling about that, and the investigation was not thrilling either it was Boring!.More accurately this film is a boring crime drama with no thrills and no excitement.in fact there was barely any crime in the film except women abuse, that's the majority of the crime I saw and not much else. The film only has a few good points but not many. I thought Casey Affleck gave a good performance as a psychopath killer he was very believable and he made you want to hate his character which I did.he was not a scary bad guy he just looked normal but I thought his acting was good and I found him very convincing. The film also has some nice cinematography and nice scenery and Simon baker was fun to watch I thought he was an interesting character and I liked his determination to bring down the killer. Simon baker was the only reason I kept on watching because he was interesting as a detective but I did not care about anyone else!. You barely know the characters in the film they are all just like sheep with no character. Also the killer had the most cliché of reasons for abusing women his (excuse) is but I grew up in an abusive house hold. Who Cares! That's no excuse to do what you did!. It wasn't even him that was abused as a kid it was his mother that was! So what reason does he have for being violent other than being a psycho?. NOTHING there is no reason! He just enjoyed hurting people I guess?.Wow what a great story! it's a story about a man that no one cares about!. Wow that sounds really interesting doesn't it? NOT!. This film was mediocre at best and even that's being too kind. The film was not entertaining and not interesting and the story was all over the place and the film also tried to be funny, but news flash it Wasn't!. The humour felt stupid and out of place and It was like the film did not know what sort of tone it wanted to be.whether it wanted to be serious or silly or bleak or maybe a bit of everything.the tone of the film kept changing which confused me and frankly I found it annoying. Also this film has one of the dumbest endings I've ever seen in a movie! It was Stupid and unsatisfying on nearly every level and one character does something so stupid it made me want to puke!. To sum things up I hate this film and I will never watch it again it's boring and overrated. The film lacks story and substance and dragged on forever with lame scenes.Simon bakers detective work was the best part of the movie but everything else was boring.do yourselves a favour readers and watch the grass grow instead it's better than this movie!. I'd rather go to sleep then watch this crap film again. And for people that say I don't understand the film, your WRONG I DID understand it I just Don't care! Because it's Boring.
