Must See Movie...

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

If you only have the time (or the inclination) to watch just one "Holiday" presentation, this is THE one to watch. If you've never seen it, you are in for a treat. If you have seen it, you know what I'm talking' 'bout ! It is pure perfection. It's not sticky. It's not sweet. The animation is pure delight. The narrator and the voice of the Grinch were cast by a total genius. It is impossible to imagine anyone else doing the job better. Karloff IS The Grinch. Case closed, end of discussion. It would be great if there were a "making-of" film showing Karloff recording the entire reading. Speaking of "grrrreat" ...it's interesting reading the other reviews and seeing that it was thought by many that the singing was also done by Karloff. Not so. 'Twas Tony the Tiger moonlighting for this job. Yay ! Wonderous lyrics wonderfully presented.OK, bottom line. Sick of the "only a little kid could like this" animated shows ? Check out the Grinch, you won't regret it.>Edit: Get your own copy. Do not watch it with commercial breaks.

The Grinch lives in a mountain cave. He hates Christmas and hates the Whos in Whoville celebrating. Who knows why but his heart is two sizes too small. He comes up with an awful idea to disguise himself as Santa Claus and his dog Max as a reindeer. Then he steal everything Christmas from the Whos in Whoville. He encounters Cindy Lou Who but he lies to the little child.This is the perfect marriage of Chuck Jones' animation style with Dr. Seuss' wacky writing and illustrations. Both are originals in their own rights. Both are masters in their field. Add to that, there is the great voice work by Boris Karloff. It's got a great message and will make anybody's heart grow three sizes.

This may be a TV short. But it's more true and more close to the Dr. Seuss classic book about meaning and lessons for young minds as children. The story is about a green, mean creature steals Christmas by dressing as Santa Clause on Christmas Eve, and stealing everyone's Christmas presents. How the Grinch Stole Christmas the 1966 version is a true animated classic with a good message at the end that will truly tech kids to respect what their got and be grateful of what their got. The narration in this is almost close to perfect, because the writer's really put in so much into this trying to be like the classic book. Overall this version is more better than the other bad versions like: The Cat in the Hat (2003) / How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000).

" . . . it came without packages, boxes, or bags." This is the Christmas of which every parent dreams. What mom or dad wouldn't want a household full of compliant Who kids that barely notice a difference between a home overflowing with Christmas paraphernalia, and one which looks like it's been stripped by the eviction men? What sort of spoils this picture of total Christmas simplicity and bliss is that the Grinch immediately plunges Whoville back into its same old grind of Christmas decorations, Christmas feasts, Christmas presents, and Christmas roast beasts. This 53-year-old Grinch's heart has just grown "ten sizes plus two," which sounds a lot like early-onset congestive heart failure to me. On top of that, he may be suffering from Alzheimer's. Why else would he expect his pet lap dog Max to be able to pull a semi-trailer's load of Christmas trappings? Furthermore, we never learn if Cindy Lou Who's parents were brought up on child neglect charges. But when a two-year-old has the run of the house during a late-night home invasion, heads should roll.
