Very Cool!!!
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Beautifully shot, landscape views and moments of joy and love captured as time flies by. At Middleton is about two actors bringing to life emotions felt, the raw emotions acted out so well it makes one captivated watching the movie. The movie is about falling in love again simply put but it isn't the clichè one usually sees, it is also about trying to be with a person again once you've forgotten how. A very poignant subtle tug at the heart strings movie done justice to by two seasoned actors.
At Middleton, also known as Just One Day is a light romantic film about two mismatched people who meet in a college campus open day.Edith (Vera Farmiga) a free spirit and George (Andy Garcia) an uptight bow tie wearing cardiac surgeon meet while taking their children, Audrey (Taissa Farmiga) and Conrad (Spencer Lofranco) around the campus. The two parents bored with the college guide Dingleberry wander off to explore the college on their own and get to know each other better and despite their differences seem to connect. Its an opposites attract type of film and a college film that focuses more on the parents than the student. In fact the kids I felt were poorly defined with Audrey coming across as horrible being someone who is obsessed in wanting to be taught by a particular linguistics professor. The film has a French feel to it as it wants to be rather fast and loose. Edith and George are at first abrasive with each other but have a series of misadventures at college which does feel phony. They interact at a drama class which I never felt convinced by. They get stoned with some students, steal some bikes and even have a kiss at a projection booth.Still it is a sweet and watchable but never grabs you. A middling film that never gets the top grades.
What's another word for feckless? Feckless? Yeah. The goddamn nine-letter word for feckless. Pointless. Right? Like this movie guys. This movie is waste of time. There goes 99 minutes that i never ever have back. I am so disappointed. What's another word for feckless? Feckless? Yeah. The goddamn nine-letter word for feckless. Pointless. Right? Review: I didn't really find this movie realistic or even that funny, but it is quite a sweet love story between the 2 main characters. The whole film is set around a visiting day at a school which is were Garcia and Farmiga meet for the first time, and they end up wandering off, doing there own thing. It wasn't exactly what I as expecting from the movie, but it's light hearted fun which does tickle the heart strings. It ends pretty abruptly which was a dramatic change of tempo from the rest of the movie, which I think the director was trying to accomplish. In the end of the day, it's fun for the whole family, especially parents that have kids that are living them for further education. Watchable!Round-Up: I was really expecting a lot from Andy Garcia, but his latter years haven't been good to him in the movie world. From his earlier movies like the Godfather III and the Untouchables, he was the talk of the town at one point, but know he's lucky to be in a big Blockbuster. After playing those serious roles, it's hard to watch him make a fool of himself in this movie, but I'm sure that it won't hurt his portfolio. Vera Farmiga seems to act the same in all of her movies, so she was a great choice for this role. The movie wasn't really what I was hoping for, but it's good to see Garcia back on the big screen.Budget: $2.5million Worldwide Gross: $50,000 (Terrible!)I recommend this movie to people who are into there movies about a dad and mother who take there kids on a open day at college. 4/10
