Redundant and unnecessary.
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Was cool and should have ended on a happy note. Very disappointing last 10 minutes. From beginning 00:01-93:59, the movie served its purpose. From decent acting, typical "straight to DVD" story-line, the whole 9 yards. Little tough trying to watch Jen Carpenter, without her "Dexter's sis" Truck driver potty mouth. If the movie ended 5 minutes earlier, I think the reviews would have been much better. The plot twist was a nice ending, just could have ended sooner.
WARNING - SPOILER AHEAD!!!Okay, so this is my first ever summary of a movie. I've seen it recently on Amazon Prime and it wasn't that bad.The film is very well made in terms of acting and cinematography. Certainly not an Acedmy Award Winner, but very solid. The villain is portrayed by Dallas Roberts and i believe him every second of this movie. John Cusack is awesome as always, although his last big hit was a few years ago. The story is intriguing and kept me at the edge of my seat. What bothered me most was the ending - i really liked it, since John Cusack died and was betrayed by his partner Kelsey. But i just knew that Carl had an accomplice besides the big black guy the minute they drove to his home. So for me, Kelsey being Carls girlfriend or wife or whatsoever was no surprise at all.Abby finding out about Kelsey being a bad guy was also unnecessary in my opinion. The end would have even been better, if she hadn't find out.So in the end, the movie "The Factory" is a very solid 6/10.
this movie had me intrigued until just before the end, when the antagonist received a phone call during his 'date'. with so few characters in the storyline, that was a dead giveaway, making the ending uber predictable. i don't think omitting the phone call would have worked. it was necessary in introducing the idea of a 2nd antagonist. but there should have been more options as to who the 2nd antagonist might be. the slim pickings made it just too easy. either way, i saw it coming and it just sucked the fun right out of the mystery. admittedly, the movie was gripping until then, but that is not enough. so, out of a 10, it gets a 5 for keeping my interest, but it forfeits a 5 for losing it.
Warning!!!! This is a James Wan directed movie! That should tell you to strap yourself in and be prepared for the shock and awe that is to follow. Not familiar with his name?, Think, "Saw", "Insidious", and his latest effort, "The Conjuring". Everything that you would expect from this Malaysian Chinese director is on show. His specialty seems to be showing the very depth of human depravity in all its glory. At times the violence is just too graphic and seems unnecessary, but this is his trademark. If he is going to direct a murder scene then it is going to be bigger, better and more realistic than anyone else's. Frankly, I found it all very unsettling and was tempted to bale out long before the end. I stuck with it though as the story itself was compelling and who doesn't like John Cusack?. The ending will surprise most people, although some might think it improbable. I'm not sorry I watched this movie, just sorry I didn't realize who the director was.
