Pretty Good
It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Where is Groucho? Where is the inspector Bloch? You know Dylan dog is vegetarian and hates the weapons? Is Dylan Dog not a freaking Power Ranger.
I'm not a big fan of Dylan Dog comic book series, but I've read them. That pretty much sums up my whole problem with this movie. The story is not even close to the original and the characters are all wrong presented. The story of Dylan Dog has a huge movie potential (Dylan is detective, but not just any kind of detective; he is, as he called himself,an investigator of nightmares. Although quite young, he already has a career of Scotland Yard police officer, is a recovering alcoholic, and behind him are dozens of broken hearts. But who is actually Dylan neither he does not know; his past is covered in veil of secrecy. He is a young man in a world of supernatural, but his biggest enemies are his own demons.) The writers obviously didn't put a lot of effort in this movie. They created a completely different character, and deprived him of everything we like about Dylan Dog. Something that could be unique, they turned into a forgettable flick.
This is a review of a film. This is a review of the film Dylan Doggy. It was good. I liked it many much. Excuse my English, am I not first language speaker. Overall the film/movie was good, but the other review make it seem bad. I liked it. It was good I think. Thank you for enjoying this review. I enjoyed making a review of a film called Dylan Dog. It was fun. And good. I have to add more lines, so here they are. It was great! NICE FILM EVERYONE!Furthermore, I would like to add that the overall tone of the film was somewhat underwhelming at times due to the unpolished acting, and possibly flawed script/storyboard. With greater actors, and writers, this film could have been excellent, however, it was not. On the other hand, the final scene with the demonic like creature seemed almost tacky, or gimmicky, and spoiled an otherwise pleasant and quirky film. More lines? Well, here they are!
I don't understand the terrible reviews on this movie. It wasn't absolutely the worst movie I've ever seen, it actually was pretty good, I even laughed quite a few times. I had honestly never heard of the comic before I read about it in one review (Yeah yeah, stupid Americans, I know), and I only watched the movie because I figured it had to be a little good if it had a main character that hot. In truth, Brandon Routh did not give the best performance in this movie. He showed almost no emotion the entire movie. I mean, I think I would do a little more than sulk quietly and half-heartedly kick some inanimate objects if my best friend was murdered. Speaking of the best friend, Sam Huntington is absolutely the best part in Dylan Dog. His character is funny, witty, and not exactly happy about being a zombie. He was the only reason I laughed. Anita Briem, whom I immediately recognized from her poor performance alongside Brendan Fraser in Journey to The Center of the Earth, lived up to my low expectations. She tries hard to pull off her secretly evil character, but in the end her acting falls flat. Overall, you will probably enjoy this movie just because of the funny zombie parts, or just because its the genre it is, but don't expect an major wows or exciting plot twists.
