I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Saw this years ago, but as I keep saying, there is no zero rating available. This thing might appeal to disrespectful, rude chavs, but all in all it depends how you like your comedies, I prefer a likable lead and an actual plot, two things this stinker does not have. This is simply the worst film of 2002 and one of the worst comedies ever made. Sacha baren Cohen is a talentless hack that has the effect of fingernails on a chalkboard. 0/10
A bombshell is dropped on ALI G when he is told that the government want to close down the leisure centre where he teaches young kids. He decides that he is going to go on hunger strike until they change their plans. When that fails he gets an offer to enter politics, unknowingly to him, he has been asked by a person who desperately wants to become Priministor and has used Ali to try and ruin the real Priministor's reputation so that he will resign. However when Ali is a success he is stitched up by the person who entered him in the first place he decides to put it right. This film starred: Sacha Baron Cohen, Charles Dance & Martin Freeman.ALI G INDAHOUSE was released in 2002. In my opinion this is a good film that will make you laugh and entertain you for 90 minutes. I do recommend this film because it is a good comedy which will make you laugh and if it doesn't then you clearly have no sense of humour.***/***** Good film
Perfect parody of the hip hop scene! Rating 10I am surprised, as I used to ignore this movie for a long time. After seeing the movie "Borat" and "Brüno" from Mister Sacha Baron Cohen I was looking for more good stuff with the same quality and from the same source and did not get disappointed. As most people I hate the stupid analphabetic low end hip hop monkeys, which are unable to articulate themselves in an understandable way.But here comes the exception to the rule and it is named Ali G! I will check out later the TV series of Ali G and let you know.In the movie you recognized a lot of elements of scenes, which in the later movies are repeated in a different and equal funny or even funnier way.So, the message to all the wanna be hip hoppers out there is: Check this and take it as an example of how to score among the people.
Ali G Indahouse is really the only of the three Baron Cohen character comedies to be an actual movie. The Ali G character was the lead character of Da Ali G Show on HBO, while the other two characters appeared as more funny. This has always been the main character for Baron Cohen as well, and the first to be created. So anyway this movie is honestly a very nice ode to the character, as he is not getting a hoaxing movie like the other two characters. So basically you get sort of what you get from Ali G most of the time on Da Ali G Show. The writing isn't spectacular, but you get some well needed cheap laughs from this one.6/10
