Just perfect...
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is the scariest sequel and yes, its way better than Halloweens 5, H20 and Resurrection.According to this film, Dr. Wynn (who made a cameo in the original) is the good old friend and colleague of Dr. Loomis has been the leader of a cult called Thorn, he's the one responsible for turning Michael Myers into an unstoppable serial killer and has been controlling Michael. This implies that Michael Myers was always "the victim" and Wynn was the real villain from the beginning..I dont think so. I know alot of fans hate this film, well I mean, they hate the theatrical cut because that version makes no sense, ok I agree, and that the producer's cut is recommended. I've seen both versions and prefer the theatrical cut. I dont care if the plot/story is messy my only concern was the Michael Myers character. The theatrical version is scary, dark, brutal, creepy and Michael Myers is a badass and a monster compared to the producer's cut. Another reason why I prefer the theatrical version is because it shows that evil cant be controlled. Michael brutally kills "his creator" Dr. Wynn and his staffs. Overall, Michael's evil still remains a mystery how it should be and I prefer it that way.The ending when it shows Michael's mask on the floor and you hear a horrified screaming, Jesus that freaked me out.
Six years after Michael Myers last terrorized Haddonfield, he returns there in pursuit of his niece, Jamie Lloyd, who has escaped with her newborn child, for which Michael and a mysterious cult have sinister plans. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers is easily the Series worst installment and even tho a young Paul Rudd and Donald Pleasence do a good amount of job in their roles the film's plot is ridiculous and once again characters from the previous film die in a flash like Jamie for example. The entire plot arc with the druids and the Cult was stupid and made no sense at all and once again the film showcases that another sequel was gonna be made and it did. (0/10)
In Halloween 6, specifically in the movie's theatrical cut, visual beauty is connected to the lack of purpose. Lack of purpose is one way of looking at it, the lack of movement is a more literal way of looking at it.If the opposite of purpose has been connected to the purpose of observation, it stands to reason that purpose has been connected to the opposite of observation. The opposite of observation is the opposite of intrigue, and it's the opposite of interest. Interest, is a force that deserves to hold a monopoly over reality. The opposite of interest is a force that can't have a monopoly. A monopoly is a quantity that beats another quantity. The opposite of interest is a force that can't be a quantity that beats another quantity. The purpose, of Halloween 6, is a quantity that has to be equal to any other quantity. No quantity can have the right to overrule any other quantity. A quantity is an image - so no image in Halloween 6 can have the right to be better than any other image.Any image, or any shape, or any character or any object that gets seen in Halloween 6 will eventually get the same treatment that any other image or character gets. It doesn't matter what the image looks like, it doesn't matter who the character is and it doesn't matter what the object is: throughout the 80 minute run time, of Halloween 6, all the characters and all the objects that get seen in the film get shown in a way which is identical. The Strode house gets shown the same way that Smith's Grove gets shown. Kara Strode gets shown the same way that Tommy Doyle gets shown. Michael Myers gets shown the same way that Kara Strode and Tommy Doyle get shown. The Blankenship house gets shown the same way that the Strode house and that Smith's Grove get shown, etc etc.Halloween 6 is a perfect type of intellect, and it's quite possibly in the top 20 movies ever made
Some great moments of violence. The problem was that the great concept was poorly executed. The story progression is often slow and confusing. Some good ideas emerged though. I just couldn't help but think that this film could have been so much better. Turn it on, sit back and let it happen, it's fine.
