The one reason and one reason only that I watched this movie is that not only did my brother say it's a so-bad-it's-good movie but it's one of the funniest. Deciding to sit down and watch it without knowing anything, the original movie, the story of which they're both based off of or anything else this is a so bad it's good movie but not one of the best.Okay the story is that a delinquent named Sebastian Valmont is being taken care of by his father and rich stepmother and step-sister. He goes to school and falls in love (and would you believe it, this seems even more spontaneous than a Disney movie) and he tries to go out with her. Meanwhile his step-sister Kathryn tries to lower his guard so he can instead be a prick while she tries to remain on top of the popularity ladder and stay the best at everything. Now to be fair, I am NOT criticizing the acting. The reason is that the directing and writing are both horrible. A line of dialogue literally goes "Yesterday was my first kiss and today you're at second base, at this rate your d!ck will be in my mouth before lunch"... I don't think Marlon Brando could save writing that asks for dialogue THIS F#CKING STUPID. In terms of directing, there is a scene where in an attempt to make Sebastian what he is Kathryn sends 2 lesbians into his shower to make out naked in front of him. And before you ask - no, this is not something out of a porn. Another scene involves a Student body going into a BIG DARK ROOM where they look at slides of new students and allocate them (What High School student let alone a group of High Shcool Students do this?).BUT through horrible lines and horrible directing, this is enjoyable... Before you go crazy I'm just going to tell you why, This stuff is so awkward, so... To simply put it "what the f#ck" that it just has to get a laugh out of me. I know the actors can do better (hell, I've seen them in better!) but honestly, as I said not even an actor of the very highest caliber can save something this awful. Now I have no idea if the first movie is any good or not but if you see some so-bad-it's-good opportunity from this (and if you don't I can see why) then it's really worth checking out. I mean if you see in the original movie some good characters and story (although as I said, have no idea of it, this is just guess work) then you might think this is one of the worst sequels ever made. As I said, check it out if you want something to laugh at.

Roger Kumble wants very much for Cruel Intentions 2, to be like the original, only he doesn't have the budget for it, nor the talented cast that he did in the 1st to pull it off. For starters the only impressive cast members in this movie are Sarah Thompson, and the now infamous Amy Adams, Robbin Dunne is a low rent version of Ryan Phillippe. This plays of a prequel of sorts to Cruel Intentions, but really it's more like a poor rehash of the original, even mimicking some of the classic dialog from the original. I didn't feel the realness between Sebastian and Danielle, that I did between Annette and Sebastian, it just felt thrown in there. It never takes itself very seriously, and normally that's a good quality to have, but that's what made the original so powerful, it almost seems like a spoof at times. The loads of nudity is unnecessary along with the stupid subplot of Sebastian's dad.SPOILERS : It turns out Danielle was in it all along with Kathryn to toy with him, and all 3 end up having a make out session of sorts. This was laughable, and completely ruined one decent aspect of the story, even if it wasn't that believable.Performances. Robin Dunne looks kinda odd to be playing Sebastian, and he doesn't have the charm to pull it off like Phillippe, he just looked off, and I didn't buy his performance. Sarah Thompson plays the sweet virgin actually pretty decently. She's no Witherspoon, but she holds her own. Amy Adams is about as sexy and downright ruthless as SMG was. Not quite in her class, but definitely very good, and she was often the highlight of the movie for me. Keri Lynn Pratt is basically just trying to do Selma Blair's role in the original, she did OK. Mimi Rogers looks sexy, but that's about it.Bottom line. Cruel Intentions 2 is a pretty poor rehash of the original, that likes to call itself a prequel. The original shouldn't have been touched. Cruel Intentions is an almost classic movie, this is a poor DTV sequel, that is barely worth a look for curiosity's sake.4/10

Take my advice: before viewing Cruel Intentions 2, watch Disney's Enchanted. After falling in love with Amy Adams as the sweet, pure and innocent Princess Giselle, watching her play a rich-bitch schoolgirl slut is somehow so much more satisfying. It seems so wrong, yet so right!Manchester Prep, a prequel to Cruel Intentions, stars the scrummy Ms.Adams as Kathryn, wicked step-sister to Sebastian (Robin Dunne), a student with a chequered past who tries to turn over a new leaf when he falls for the headmaster's daughter Danielle (Sarah Thompson). Kathryn, whose passion is to cause trouble whenever possible, attempts to scupper Sebastian's new relationship, whilst also doing her best to corrupt pretty and naive virgin Cherie (Keri Lynn Pratt).Whereas the original Cruel Intentions was, with its cast of trendy Hollywood stars, a calculated attempt to be cool, savvy and oh-so-clever, Manchester Prep is a trashy, immature, and totally unsophisticated movie that, by being far less pretentious, manages to be just as entertaining as, if not more than, the first.Adams is easily a match for Sarah Michelle Gellar (Kathryn in Cruel Intentions), being both convincingly cruel and very sexy; Thompson is great as the pretty poor girl of the school who captures Sebastian's heart; and Keri Lynn Pratt is charming as the Manchester Prep virgin who learns why riding horses is so popular with young women. Hats off also to Annie Sorell and Alicia Lorén, who are unforgettable as Sebastian's horny, brunette shower buddies (female nudity in a teen drama has rarely been so gratuitous!).Manchester Prep might not be innovative groundbreaking cinema, but it sure is fun. Not quite an 8/10, but a pretty high 7.

What can I say about Cruel intentions 2? Well, I can say in all honesty, I will only watch this film again if I am fastened to a chair and have my eyes opened clockwork-orange-style.The film 'stars' Robin Dunne (No, I never heard of him either), whose awful impression of Ryan Phillipe made me cringe throughout. In a case of terrible casting, Dunne attempts (and fails) to carry off playing a handsome charismatic, charmer. Since the actor is not handsome, nor charismatic nor charming, the character is left wholly unbelievable. Amy Adams, (she was in an episode of buffy one time), tries to pick up where Sarah Michelle Gellar left off and bring scheming Katherine to life... However, Adams is not that good a an actress and her performance was flat and lacking in any real emotion, often she looked like she was reading cue cards just off camera. There were two good actors in the film however, Barry Flatman (Saw 2 & Saw 3) and Mimi Rogers (Mrs Kensington in Austion Powers), made very good and entertaining performances as the parents of Sebastian and Katherine and are the only reason why I rated the film as a 2, not a 1.The film itself is a poor version of the original, with such lows as carbon copy's of dialogue and mimicked scenes which lacked the originality of the previous film.I think that as a TV show, it might have worked, but if it had been recasted with people who could actually act in the main parts.
