Excellent, Without a doubt!!
A Disappointing Continuation
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
So glad I watched this movie!!! I love movies that bring out the positive emotions. The acting was good, especially Brian Bosworth. I loved that the movie shows that everyone is redeemable, everyone is welcome to the Christian faith. I especially loved that this movie was not ashamed to use the name of Jesus. Living in a society that regularly ridicules believers can be difficult and taxing. This movie was spot on, and exactly what I needed
Fast paced with solid acting. DO YOU BELIEVE? is directed by Jonathan M. Gunn and is a Christian based film with a multiple-narrative that intersects the lives of a handful of very different people, who will be introduced to a life changing challenge of faith. A Detroit minister named Matthew(Ted McGinley)is reminded by a street corner preacher dragging a cross, that true belief is sustained with action. His barren wife(Tracy Melchior) takes in a pregnant runaway(Madison Pettis). A homeless mother(Mira Sorvino) with a charming little daughter(Makenie Moss)are given the shelter of a church janitor's(Brian Bosworth)humble apartment. An EMT(Liam Matthews)is about to lose his job for talking about Jesus to a dying man. And an aging couple played by Cybil Shepard and Lee Majors soon begin living life again after the loss of a daughter. A young man(Joseph Julian Soria)suffering PTSD, home from the military along with a petty criminal(Shwayze)join others that find hope and faith believing in the blood stained cross of Jesus Christ. The finale tries to bring closure to each person's scenario with a massive traffic accident. To me the best acting comes from Bosworth and Miss Moss. Others featured: Sean Astin, Logan White, Alexia PenaVega and Valarie Dominguez.
Loved this movie! The actors do a good job of portraying the characters. The script is very well thought through. I liked how the storyline unfolds, and how it is wrapped up. The action scenes are just enough without it being "over the top". Some clichés are unavoidable, but I feel they kept it to a minimum of what is necessary when you are giving a message that has been the same for 2000 years. The filming of Chicago and the bridge is very good. As a Christian it's great to feel the honor be directed where it belong. It is also such a relief to see a movie that don't leave a bitter aftertaste. One that just gives a desire to do good, for the right reason.
So do I believe? Yes. Was I skeptical before watching this? Yes. However I was pleasantly surprised! You could say it was "cheesy" if you want and some might say "melodramatic" but I applaud it's message! In a day and time when we see and hear about so much gun violence and are filled with a false sense of reality thanks to people being more concerned with outward appearances than inner values, I believe that we all need more movies like this! As a Christian, I feel that it's unpopular these days to profess one's faith, regardless of what that may be. I honestly believe that those who score this movie so low are people who are afraid of Christianity and perhaps afraid of believing in anything greater than ourselves. Why is it so okay to enjoy such far fetched films like Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings which are fictional but it is not "ok" to hear about God!? Should you compare this to "God is Not Dead"? It's similar in theme but I honestly like it better. If you liked "Heaven is Real" you'll like this too. Regardless of the acting (which I am not critiquing), this movie should be watched with an open mind and heart. One should ask themselves how they are professing their faith and living their lives.
