It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

The first thing when came upon our mind on hearing the word bollywood movie is - Entertainment. But the first point here - there is no song in the movie. So you cannot even in your wildest dream expect this movie to be entertaining in a traditional way. Coming at the storyline, I am not going to repeat it as it is already there several times. There are situations when you cannot judge/or call a person to be criminal just because of what he did. Instead, even he is a criminal in the eye of the law, you would support him after knowing the full story. Just a philosophic thought here; are all the so called 'criminal' are really criminal - or you would support him and will not judge him as guilty if you know why he had made that action. The movie is unpredictable - at least to the general viewers. I have never met anyone who had climax that he had anticipated the climax before it happened. Being a general man, we usually keep distance from the unwanted problems. But what you would do if problems comes itself to your door? Would you surrender to it or fight against it. But there is another way. Heard a proverb where it said that aim to the storm in such a way that it works in favor of you. Evey character are so appropriate, that you can call them ideal as per the Indian tradition and society. Loving husband, caring elder brother, Protector of the family – you will find all of them in Vijay. In the end , you will leave the movie hall – but the movie will not let you leave alone. You will be surrounded by the movie even after couple of days.

There are movies which are generally paced than there are movies which are light which appeal to a bigger audience. I found drishyam slow but that's where it appeals to a bigger audience. It is a story of a man who goes to different lengths to save his family.Direction: Average direction.Screenplay: Above average screenplay.Cinematography: Average cinematography.Tone: When it comes to tone, what comes mostly to one's mind are efforts to embed into minds fake incidences occurred. Those and other are set well.Music: Below average.Acting: Almost everyone associated with the movie has acted really well.

This is one of the most engrossing films I've seen in a long time. I am officially a fan of Ajay Devgan's acting. The whole cast was superb and you can't help but root for them all on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film! This is a movie that encapsulates the idea that sometimes there is no right or wrongs. Some things just are and many of us will agree that we can do damn near anything to protect the ones we love. The tension that builds from the beginning of the movie leaves your stomach in knots for the next 2 hours until the final scene. It's the closest to perfect I think I have ever seen the plot of a movie come. I also appreciated Vijay (the father's) empathy and kindness and gentleness towards his wife and his 2 daughters. He understood their emotions and catered to them, held them close and protected them without complaint. He asked what he could of them, but knew not to hold them to any expectations and that shows in such big way towards the end of the movie. Truly, a masterful piece of cinema. Vijay was a brilliant character. For an illiterate man, he has a sharp mind. His love of cinema and film is what educates him on how to handle himself throughout a very trying situation. Amazing, truly. I loved this film and I will be passing it along to my family and friends because this is a must-see!
