I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
As Good As It Gets
In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Pretend this hideous sequel doesn't exist. It contains none of the magic of the original. I made the mistake of sitting down and watching this with my son. The writing was terrible, I am baffled as to how the trademark holders allowed this script to get a green light. It completely butchered the story of Frosty, it turned the entire thing into some kind of political statement, completely negating the fun and magical story that the original embodied. This should have never been made, and for everyone who is a fan of frosty, just pretend this film doesn't even exist. You will be much better off simply watching the original again :)
This television special is only 22 minutes long. We're in trouble if that's the best thing I can say about it.There are some pluses and minuses. Brian Doyle-Murray as Mr. Twitchell is a plus. John Goodman's singing voice as Frosty the Snowman is a major minus unfortunately. I like John Goodman, but the man can't carry a tune. I'm not sure why he'd be in a television special where he has to sing when that is the case. The animation and character look in this special is very similar to Charlie Brown. There's nothing wrong with it. You know this special was aired originally in 1992 because there's an MTV reference.Another thing I liked about this movie is the friendship theme. It's one we want to reinforce in children. Other than that, it's a quick, relatively enjoyable 22 minutes.Watch the original and give this a glance if you have the chance.
Had a double take on the release date of this one. The animation is so poor it seems like a cheap 70's cartoon. Goodman does what he can with what's given to him, but every line is some schmaltzy nonsense about love in your heart, making friends and so on. It ignores the premise of the magic hat, now Frosty can take it off whenever. We also have a villain that wants to melt snow with his environmentally unsafe spray. The whole dynamic between this villain and the town he wishes to bow before him is always kind of off. He seems like a Bond super villain that wants world domination, but he's also a bit of a fool. The songs are forgettable and with no mention of Christmas, it just doesn't have enough charm to capture the imagination. Just listen to the song or watch the original.
Well now here's a great sequel to a holiday classic...not! Well frosty the snowman is back to help a little girl to make friends and enjoy the snow of the holidays. Unfortunately the adults are using a sinister product to destroy all the snow. Will frosty survive? Well you'll have to watch to find out.Well at first you get to see several well known actors playing in this such as John Goodman and Jonathan Winters, but after that you look at this and find out that this film belongs with all the rip off cheap movies in your Kroger $1 Isl. The animation looks like someone did a bad job of copying the peanuts and the voice acting is terrible. The story is very rushed and even before you star the movie it's over. Trust me, if this didn't come with a collection then I would never have watched this film. Do yourself a favor, if you don't have children under 5 then don't watch this film it will rot your brain.
