Simply A Masterpiece
Excellent but underrated film
As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
The first must-see film of the year.
First of all, people, a documentary doesn't present both sides. Documentaries are the media equivalent of a debate argument or a persuasive essay. A documentary presents a claim and then supports it with information. Documentaries are biased by design. For unbiased information, we are supposed to look to the news and journalists. Within the first few minutes of this film, we can see that trust is misplaced. The "journalist" recorded here appears truly deplorable. It is clear the media smeared Knox by printing every fabricated or insinuated tale as though it were fact. Foxy Knoxy? Lucifer-like, satanic witch? Yeah, that's evenhanded journalism assuring a fair trial. *scoff*Drug-fueled sex orgy? Because they smoked a little weed? Puh-leeeease.The investigator comes off as a pompous ass. Knox is an anarchist because she doesn't like being questioned by authorities? Pretty sure only the truly stupid are cooperative when they have been accused of murder.I'm dumbfounded by the people screaming for Knox's head based upon the "damning" physical evidence. You mean they found Knox's DNA and fingerprints in her own home? Wow, what a revelation! Listen, your DNA and fingerprints cover just about every square inch of your residence, including the bedroom of anyone living with you. Skin and hair are everywhere (that's what dust is mostly made of), and don't tell me you never hung out in your roommate's room listening to music, chatting, or smoking a bowl.Knox was acquitted. That means she is presumed innocent. End of story.
Wtf...that was my first thought when I saw the journalist describing the scenario like it was book of fiction or something. Even if he was satisfied with getting the scoop...a normal (emotional) person wouldn't laugh and in the same time describe it like a perfect "media-story". He seems to be an awful human being...!...and a bad journalist admitting he wrote articles in the case without doing any background check...just like many others do in social media today. A young girl died and that laugh, that was the most disturbing in this documentary! It was good that the chaos at the crime scene was recorded, that was enough to realize how non-professional the police was. And the the evidence they found after 48 day...wtf again...really!?!A good example of bad police work and how awful media can be...shame on both police and media!
That's my verdict of this so-called documentary -- Guilty! Guilty of re-writing history and whitewashing Amanda Knox.Look, there are too many reports that have been done about all this, and just one of those reports is way more honest that this piece of trash film. It's clear from all the evidence, blood evidence, and Ms. Knox's constantly changing stories at the time, that she's guilty as hell. She's a sociopath at best, a psychopath at worst. But then is that any surprise, really, when it's estimated that 4% of the population is sociopathic/psychopathic? That's 1 in 25 people. It's surprising we don't see more like Amanda Knox making the news, frankly. The makers of this film have attempted to whitewash Amanda Knox -- and maybe it will work on some, but it's garbage. Just read her prison diaries (barely even mentioned in this "journalistic" story). She's guilty, and no amount of filmmaking like this is going to resurrect her as some upstanding citizen of society. Never going to happen.
I was able to watch this on Netflix streaming movies. It is hard to believe all this started 9 years ago. When I look at Amanda Knox, listen to the way she speaks, when I look at her backwards-sloping forehead, when I look in her eyes. I KNOW she is guilty, she is obviously a murderer! She killed her roommate.I say that in jest, because it is almost what the Italian prosecutor did. He is a fan of movies, especially detective movies. He is a great admirer of Sherlock Holmes, how Mr Holmes can look at sparse evidence and uncover not only the perpetrator of crimes but also the motive. And ultimately that is what happened. The Italian investigation had no concrete evidence, yet they were able to convict Knox and her boyfriend of 5 days. And they were able to explain a motive, pulled out of thin air. An appeal overturned that conviction. Then a higher court re- convicted them. And finally the highest court in Italy declared them not guilty. All this took place over an 8-year period. I found this to be an excellent documentary, which included interviews with Knox, her boyfriend, the prosecutor, and a British journalist. Who really knows if she had anything to do with it? Until the Italians find concrete evidence Knox will remain "not guilty." And I hope it stays that way.
