Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .

Brilliant and touching

The acting in this movie is really good.

Pure garbage! This movie was a waste of time. The writer of this movie needs to find a new hobby. Trust me, it's terrible movie and boring all the way through it.

First off, this is not a horror movie by any reasonable definition of the genre. It's clearly heavily inspired by Ginger Snaps but is a far inferior movie. The lead character repeatedly doing random gross things just to try to shock the audience is juvenile. Even ignoring the little disgusting things she does, I can't remember another movie with a more unlikable lead character than this one. Just an awful human being to everyone around her. Yet somehow it's clear the director expects us to sympathize with her. As much of a ridiculous caricature as Tracy Lords' character is, she comes off as much more sympathetic despite the director's intentions. Same thing in her scenes with John Waters, who is one of a number of silly cameos. Hey, it's John Waters playing a priest, how ironic! Look, Malcolm McDowell! That's Ray Wise! It's that guy from Criminal Minds! They just draw attention to themselves and take you out of the movie. Repeated overly long dream sequences also get old quickly. For some reason I kept watching this all the way to the end, which turned out to be another ridiculous attempt to shock the audience, but it had no impact, because I didn't care by that point.

what a weird and wonderfully acted film, acting was above par for a film of this genre, story line was easy to follow and somehow delicious to watch as the angst and delusional qualities of the main character unfolded, it does have humor blackest at best but there nonetheless.the story tells of an 18 student with delusions of medical excellence and somewhat of an anomaly in her school year and at odds with her family especially her mother (play superbly by tracy lords)yes that tracy lords.not sure how to categorise this film ,not out and out horror not a black comedy but maybe a bit of both . good watch would recommend it gave it 8/10

I had high expectations while watching this movie. I did expect a straight forward horror movie. I was wrong about that. This was a black comedy for the most part.I was annoyed with the standard trope that appears in most movies nowadays of the dominating mother and the submissive father. I remember seeing a similar sort of theme done 13 years ago in American beauty. And ever since then, literally dozens of movies have used the same theme. The performance of Traci lords seems more of an imitation of what Annette benning did. Only less annoying though. On that topic, Traci lords has given a creditable performance, I was quite surprised. Annalynne mccord's performance is also pretty good. Her deadpan delivery and sulking expressions were funny to watch.I liked the affection between the sisters. That was refreshing to watch. I guess that is important anyway towards the end. Also there is genuine affection in the family even though towards the end, it all goes horribly wrong. And honestly the family is not that dysfunctional at all. The problems are purely with the girl and her fantasies.The dialogue is pretty funny and it keeps things interesting throughout. The dream sequences are interesting but I didn't think they were anything shocking, maybe they were trying too hard. There are some gory scenes in those fantasies but they didn't make much of an impact on me.Overall, I liked it somewhat but not too impressed.6/10
