Load of rubbish!!
A waste of 90 minutes of my life
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
IMDb doesn't offer a zero star option. One star is exponentially more than this movie deserves. I recently saws film with an identical plot starring Michael Caine. That one was so so. The writing, directing and acting are amateurish and wooden from start to finish. This would be awful if it was a thousand times better than it is. Dreck, rubbish, crap. What can one say about this embarrassment? If you have a houseplant, watch it grow for 90 minutes and you will have seen something infinitely more entertaining than "we still kill the old way" IMDb wants 10 lines of review and there is not enough content in the film to warrant 10 lines of text.
I love trailers. There is nothing like a good trailer to get me excited about a movie. When I watched We Still Kill The Old Way's trailer I thought damn, this is going to be like Snatch but with guys who survived A Long Good Friday. In all honestly it was more like someone took all the worst parts of British gangster movies and put them together in a horrendous package.Bad accents? Check. Senseless violence? Check. Weird story line? Check. Old guys trying to be bad a**? Double check. This movie gives me the feeling that is was made because it had to be made not because there was any passion involved at all. It's a pretty cool idea but poorly executed.
Review: This is yet another movie about old gangsters vs. new gangsters in the East End. The young gangsters are going around causing unnecessary trouble and when one of the old school gangsters confronts them in a dark alleyway, whilst trying to save a young girl from getting raped, he gets murdered in a brutal way so the old crew get together to revenge his death. The old crew seemed like they wouldn't hurt a fly and they weren't that convincing as brutal killers. The new school crew were more annoying than scary and they just went around being a nuisance, thinking that they were bad. When the two sides clash, they end up in a big shoot out in a hospital, which was quite ridiculous, and then the film ends abruptly. It seemed more of a comedy than a meaningful gangster movie and there is just way too much talking and not enough violence from the old boys. Anyway, it's worth a watch just to past the time but it's not that great. Average!Round-Up: It's a bit weird watching a guy from Eastenders act like a gangster. I couldn't really take him seriously because I couldn't get his part in Eastenders, out of my mind. He was really trying his hardest to chat like a badman and his mannerisms and constant yelling at his fellow crew members became annoying after a while. The old gangsters could have been much harder and more brutal but the director gave them witty lines which didn't really work in this film. Anyway, if your hoping for a Essex Boys type of movie then this isn't the movie for you but if you want to see two generations of gangsters clashing, then you should give it a go. I recommend this movie to people who are into their crime/action movies about an old gangster who is out for revenge, with his old crew, after his brother gets killed by a teenage gang. 3/10
I have to say that this was a brilliant film. With the UK the way it is, being overrun by little chavs, this was the ultimate chav-culling film. a group of old school gangsters stand up to them and take them down the old way. Some good humour and references to other films such as the Italian Job, it was a refreshing change from half of the rubbish that is released nowadays. OK the way that the gang leader talks was a bit over the top, but it shows how people perceive the little gits. If you want a good film with a nice little twist, then watch this film.
