Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
I enjoyed the actors and plot . In fact watched it twice over the last 2 months. I am concerned about gmo seeds, and have ready a lot of shady goings on with Monsanto. Seed police , suing farmers into bankruptcy, going after seed washers, lack of real long term studies (been lookin for them) etc, etc.I see the blanket statements on ads saying " We use all natural healthy ingredients and gmo grown produce which has been found to be perfectly safe as though it were fact? Obama said 7 years ago all gmo would be labeled??I honestly think it looks just like big tobacco....and later the sugar industry.I liked the movie sugar coated too.The movie had action, human interaction and suspense. It was done well, with smooth transitions scene to scene.
Movie does a great job of exposing how evil our corporations are. I now know why after 50 years I get bumps on me when I eat wheat. It started at the time roundup was put on wheat. What a coincidence. We are being poisoned for profit. The rest of the world has awaken to the GMO craze of our corporations, when will the American people take their country back? The movie seem very real from all the stories I have heard from doctors and farmers through the years. Companies have become cancers on us. WE are in a war for survival. This movie shows that. People who give it a negative review are either brainwashed or work for the company.
Has anyone noticed that movies are becoming more and more "transparent "about whats really going on in the world? I've been aware about GMO's for about 15 years now and was surprised to find this movie to be very accurate about how conglomerates like Monsanto work. Every topic covered in this movie from the farmers in India to the "terminator seeds" (pattening life), the lobbying, and non- independent studies--all of it is actually true, and if you don't "think so" do some of your own research/"connecting dots". Ask yourself when did cancer become the norm? When did so much disease become the norm? They did leave one huge "dot" out however and that is the why? Whomever made this movie decided the population isn't ready for that truth yet, but this can easily be figured out if you do the research.
Reviewer discripplemation, who gave it a bad review, says it's full of misinformation and outright lies; however, discripplemation fails to support the allegations with any examples.Interesting note: discripplemation has only been an IMDb member for 3 weeks and this is his or her ONLY review.Reviewer Windsun33 has given negative reviews to all the other documentaries that expose food and water corruption such as "GMO OMG," "TAPPED," and "Seeds of Death" while most everyone else has given good ratings to these documentaries.Reviewer ted_corning gives it a bad review and even uses an old trick wherein he preempts criticism by saying those that don't support GMOs will call the pro-GMO people shills as if that is supposed to make him credible for pointing that out. Well if the shoe fits...Interesting note: ted_corning has only been a member of IMDb for 3 weeks and has no other reviews.Another reviewer, kelsokristen, has been an IMDb member of just 1 month and 3 weeks AND has no other reviews.Does anyone see a pattern here? Yeah, I thought so. It's so damn obvious.Anyway, enjoy the movie. It's pretty good considering the budget the producers had to work with. And to answer the stupid question, "Why would talented A-list actors attach themselves to this movie," it is because they understand the dangers of GMOs and want to lend their support to the movement. DUH.Why does every other advanced country in the world ban or label GMOs if they're not a problem?
