I bought this as part of a box set of 8 movies for $5.00... It wasn't worth the 62 cents. That's all I wanted to say but this has to be 10 lines. There really isn't anything else that can be said about this movie. Don't waste your time. I've seen paint dry that is more interesting than this sham of a tale. If i can help one person not go through what I just went through I'll consider this review a success. Is this 10 lines yet? Honestly, reading this terrible review is better than watching the movie. I don't know how its possible that so many actors signed on after reading this script. I guess Dennis Hopper's career was officially over in 2006. This movie is going on my list of movies i'm embarrassed to ever mention i've seen.

Hoboken Hollow is one of those films that makes you think two words: If Only. If only the writing had been a little better with more intriguing dialogue. If only the acting had been a little better (which is surprising considering it has Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, and C. Thomas Howell). If only a little more had gone into the plot to make the film seem unforced and cohesive.Premise: A guy is hitchhiking his way to California after returning home from the war. A stranger offers him a lift to his ranch he works at and wants to know if he wants a job. Guy agrees but says it can only be for one day. The horrific events that follow on the "ranch" are beyond brutal and it i safe to say you would never wanna go there.Gory scenes make up a lot of stuff. It is not SCARY just more of an uncomfortable collage of messed up violence. This move could have been great instead it just kinda lays there.4.75 out of 10 stars. Only watch it if you TRULY love the genre or need some gore.

My wife rented this movie help! I would not have rented this film. My wife made me watch the whole movie and I suffered just like the victims in this film. Where too begin! The film quality looks like a hand held camera, or camera phone. Yikes, the acting looks improvish! The story is just shock value. Has been actors like Hooper, Madison and Rober Carridine who need the work are there just to suck you in like the victims at the ranch. Huge plot holes. Why would the bad guys give the forced worker a chainsaw? I would be a very deranged victim and would have used the chainsaw. Stupid! I give this film one for their is no minuses for the rating board. Soon to be in the 99 cent buy bin in a video store near you. Don't walk Run away from the box or face my fate. The crap is like the horror movie videodrome the real horror is not the movie but watching it. O the horror of being bored too death.

I am not a big fan of horror movies. Don't care for the unbelievable blood and gore. But this movie truly disturbed me. I could not stop shaking after seeing it. Knowing that most of the events in the movie really took place [1980"s]is frightening. The fact that people can hire high powered lawyers andget away with murder is sad. These people are alive and well and functioning in society right now as you read this. If you don't understand this movie, it isbecause you expect to be entertained by a typical horror/slasher and not educated by reality. Not for the weak or faint of heart. Well done!
