Sadly Over-hyped
best movie i've ever seen.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
This movie as been on my watch list for some time, I finally got to see it and I not really sure what to make of this movie at moment, I might give another later. A mother would anything for her baby, even kill after finding out that her baby likes blood.Instead of normal breast milk, it sounds like original to movie, I not seen any other movie do this for That all I made out of it as I was only half watching while cleaning my room. The movie was very slow in places until the near ending of the movie was picked up again.I did like the very last scene in the movie, Yeah, it was really predicable.4 out of 10
Grace is a dark tale of a pregnant woman who is involved in a car accident, which kills her husband and unborn child. Madeline, who has struggled for years to have a kid, decides to carry to term. A stillborn is the result, but little Grace, somehow, comes to life. The little one smells strange and has a taste for blood. Previous to the accident, Madeline fights with her mother in law, Vivian, over her being a vegetarian and also her belief in midwifery and breast feeding. This is sort of a feminist horror film. Grace attracts flies and clumps of hair fall out when it is brushed. When mommy attempts to breast feed the tot, it bites her and drinks her blood; the little devil; or vampire. The final portion of Grace is very bloody and violent, but the acting is superb and if you are a fan of Rosemary's Baby or The Omen, this is your cup of tea.
I had read a few of the reviews on here of this film before I decided to watch and being a small fan of Cheryl Ladd I thought I would give it a go. Cheryl Ladd shines in this film most definitely her best film I have seen her in to date or her best acted role anyways. Baby Grace in places is very cute and you cant help but feel sorry for Grace and her mum especially. So to review the film without giving too much away, it is slow paced but gives you a feeling of what's going on and why, time to bond with mummy and baby. Gory atmosphere to the film but not much in the ways of bloody gore but its grizzly and isn't pleasant in places to watch. Maybe a slightly cop out abrupt ending. Overall if you want a flick to pass the time and something that's going to sick in your mind afterwards then this is the one for you - just don't expect too much from it.
This is one of the most disturbing and demented movies I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot. Jordan Ladd, in her best role to date, imo, plays a pregnant woman, that loses her unborn child in a car accident. BUT, she still wants to carry the dead baby in her womb, until in a gut wrenching scene, she delivers it. It is dead when delivered, but when placed in her arms for a short while, it comes back alive. However, this is the start of a nightmare, that I would not recommend for women period to watch, especially Mothers, because I think it would be almost impossible and unbearable to watch. The baby doesn't have an appetite for milk, it likes blood and only blood, and the Mother (Ladd) is trying to fulfill its needs. Extremely disturbing scenes, and a pretty original horror film, that is not really gory, but pretty bloody. I was actually stunned as I watched it, and to ease the tension a little, it has one of the best killing of a fly scenes I have ever seen in a movie. Great stuff for our demented fans, I highly recommend it to you sickos.
