My Way
During the invasion of Normandy the photograph of a slim Korean man in German uniform was found. It transpired that the man had served as a soldier in the Japanese, Russian and German armies. His incredible story inspired director Kang Je-Gyu to create this epic war drama.

Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
This is the third KOrean war movie that I have watched in a short while, two other being Brotherhood Of War and The Front Line, but these were about Korean War, and this new one is about a bigger time span, from 1930's and to 1948, and it follows the fate of two marathon runners, one Korean and one Japanese, being involved into the horror of WWII and all in different front fields - in China, Russia and France. I need not to retell the huge epic story, I just want to admit that the film is a great winner, with correct depictions of various nations, and moments, and yeah, they all speak languages correct, I am Russian and was very pleased to hear correct Russian speech throughout. THe video effects are excellent here, and yeah, despite several goofs and incorrect details, such as Soviet army actions in Mongolia, the movie is a good and very deep serious treat and leaves much to be thinking about. Recommended to all history buffs
Underrated movie , had to watch it with subtitles but its a great film and I love it. In this movie we see the Koreans be with Japanese, Russian, and German army. Movie is full of action and you will get tired by the end cause its so long. This movie shows that there are evil officers in different armies and shows the perspective of Operation Overlord from the Germans point of view. This is the best war film I've seen. This movie was full of suspense and curiosity of what will happen next. The Koreans were all over Europe with a goal to get back home. Unbroken(2014) is similar to this film, because both of the Koreans that become friends, were rival runners. As this movie moves from perspective of Japanese to Russian to German, it is revealed that in war Everyone is guilty ( that is if you didn't know of that). I would give this movie a 10/10 but during some fight scenes and other action scene camera was shaky and it got me confused. Saving Private Ryan is know for their accurate remake of history, well My Way is way more realistic and accurate. No average soldier of any country is more evil than that soldier of another country.
I will start with the obvious, the story is about a man who fought for the Imperial Army, Soviet Army and German Army but, except for that, 99% of the things shown, and most likely most of the characters shown, never could have happened or existed in real life. It's also filled with jaw dropping anti-Japanese hate. Especially fake are the military engagements and actions shown: a sniper shooting down a Soviet airplane with a rifle shot(in real life the dedicated AA guns had problems with shooting down those soviet planes), the Japanese army having no forward scouts and always looking like children getting surprised all the time, the Soviet machine-gun tankers riding unprotected with the turret opened when charging into battle(military tactics specifically prohibited such things), Japanese fuel trucks bumping the front of the Soviet tanks(while the Soviet tanks were missing them at almost point blank range), magically exploding and even more magically destroying said soviet tanks, and this sort of stuff is only in the first hour of a 137 min. movie. Who ever gave this movie more than 1 star is very much enjoying hating the Japanese, and/or enjoying being lied to, without thinking how physics or the military work, without informing themselves on the events or without asking themselves if that would really work 'in the real world'. Shameful movie, even more shameful propaganda. I don't enjoy being lied to my face in such manner.
CAUTION : this movie contain extreme gore, violence and blood. There are like 4000 dead during the movie. This movie essentially shows the cruelty of war, from the Japanese, Korean and Russian view. This is a beautiful story where two soldiers of different nationalities meet during war. This is a dramatic movie : the action scenes are not to enjoy, but to cry to.It's a great journey of two friends who meet each other at several moments of the war, fighting for different countries each time.
