Such a frustrating disappointment
ridiculous rating
It is a performances centric movie
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Leprechaun was a good little horror movie. It wasn't too violent, it was a bit scary, and it almost barely even earned its R rating, putting it in the PG13 rating, but nevertheless, an R rated movie. In Leprechaun 2, the film earns its R rating, with its content. It's gorier, it's got nudity, and it's got lots of senseless, bizarre violence. ( The girl/breast fan scene? Seriously, somebody thought that up!) While Leprechaun succeeded in at least sticking to a good story line, Leprechaun 2 clearly is just looking for something to build on. What better way then to start a story line originating from Leprechauns birthday! I'm not saying I disliked the sequel, I just don't think it lives up to the original. And yet this is not the weak link of the Leprechaun series, I found Leprechaun 4 a very weak "movie". ( I quote that, because I don't even think it deserves to be called a "movie". I'll review this one day, and explain why.) I'm not sure exactly what level this movie was aiming for, but I would safely assume the mark was missed, maybe not by much, but missed. Story line is...somewhat good, however, the violence and bizarre use of sex drains the energy out of it somehow. It works in some films, but doesn't seem to belong in Leprechaun, which is where I think they screwed up. Long story short, I think this is a fair sequel, a few problems that can be overlooked, drags a few scenes here and there, but all in all, I think this earns a 5 out of possible 10 stars. Hey, Warrick...do a follow up to Willow! I'm ready!
Trying to make an honest living, a teen's attempts to fix his relationship with his girlfriend is tested when she falls victim to a leprechaun's curse to be his his bride and forces him to utilize the legends of their nature to rescue her from her fate. This one was a decidedly lackluster though still entertaining effort. One of the few good parts here is the fun mind-games that come about once she's captured as that's when the fun really gets going. While the initial abduction from her house makes for some great action chasing around the house, and there's the perverse taunting being done when he tries to get her to submit as his wife, teasing her with the body modifications that must be done in order to brood his offspring, though it really tends to work well in the inescapable tunnel route by making it impossible to leave and always ending up back where they started in the liar. It's a pretty nightmarish concept that really works well at getting to her, though it's best utilized in the finale weer it's an even more effective tool to tease and frustrate the two throughout their battles into an extremely fun sequence that has even more going for it beyond this fun lair. This has some really enjoyable elements in how they begin fighting each other as the brawl with the controlled skeleton and keeping her safe using some nice counters to his trickery while keeping this upbeat and quite a bit better than expected. This one also comes really nicely with the enhanced amount of goofy, cheesy action which is now much more prevalent with the rather fun encounter in the bar where they drink him under the table and cause him to become staggering drunk, a rather goofy encounter in the office where they trap it in the iron safe before turning his tricks on them to escape and finally the scene at the drag racing spot where he runs them down with a souped-up demonic drag car that's just such a cheesy idea in concept and execution that there's very little about this that doesn't become appealing. Along with the great kills here, these here do manage to hold up the film against the few minor flaws in this one. Just like the original, the fact that this is just so much goofy, cheesy action here at the expense of actual horror elements that it might wear thin for some in how this goes overboard with these elements. The jokes and rhyming quips which are a constant here, not only from the kills but also during the simple scenes of them hanging out around his cave which is quite goofy that really makes this one too comical to take seriously while the original had a lot of success mixing the two. That in turns leads to the other big flaw here in that there's several new changes that quite different from the original, as the new weakness here makes no sense as it's not tied into their history at all, there's little about the need for putting the curse on the girl in order to get her in this situation which makes sense and the final resolution fails to follow through any of the usual methods featured here. These here do manage to hold it back somewhat, though there's still plenty of positives found here.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Adult Language and Nudity.
This a very underrated movies. It is not a 4.3. It is a lot better. The original Leprechaun is better. The sixth Leprechaun movie Leprechaun back 2 t.h.a hood is also better. But still this is a great movie. This is one of the scariest movies made in 1994. This movie has a great story line. It also has a great story line. I also has great special effects. See this movie. It is a great movie. If this movie does not scary you then no movie will. Charlie Heath is a great actor. Warwick Davis is very scary in this movie. He is such a great actor. This movie is a must see. Shevonne Durkin is a great actress. This movie is a 9 not 4.3. See it.
Is back again! This movie was no were near as decent as first one, which was just about decent with fun factor put in there. This movie did not have any of fun factor that first movie had, The lead girl in this movie, which wide eyes and Scream, . Which was way over the top. After that, I knew I was in tough ride. As ^ That was first scenes, as the movie went on, I got bored of it. I left the movie on and started doing another things as well, I Don't think there was one scenes that I actually liked in this movie. The acting was really bad in this movie as were the effects and the dull plot! 1 out of 10 (This is were series stopped for me. Even had 3 Beers before this movie, was drinking my 4th beer while it was on, that didn't even help!)
