I love this movie so much
Highly Overrated But Still Good
The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Although the story was confusing, and didn't seem greatly to resemble what I remember of reading Orwell's gripping masterpiece, I remained transfixed by the way in which the animals behaved, and was kept continually wondering how on earth they had been persuaded to speak and perform in the way they apparently seemed to be doing.Other reviewers have pointed out how the original novel has been traduced, re-written and distorted, and I'm happy to agree with them. But I remain fascinated by the visual trickery. I didn't recognise any of the voices of well-known actors, Ustinov, Scofield, Stewart, etc, although I certainly recognised Postlethwaite from The Usual Suspects. The emphasis on the humans struck me as the most intrusive part of the narrative. The farm setting also impressed me as rurally idyllic. Worth a look for the ingeniously convincing animatronics, but not otherwise.
This film, is just like the book, that I studied at my school, with a group of us. I feel for the animals, yes we do take all their food and milk. and I liked all the voices provided by top actors and actresses. this is what happens when companies take over small businesses, they become like Napolean and the other pigs. in the book, the animals sing beasts of England and beasts of Ireland in the oh my darling Clementine tune, the film version was different. I felt for Jessie the dog when they took away her pups. This I Thought wears unfair. If I'd been an animal on this film, I would of been the farmer's cat and I would of said to the pigs, "How dare you take away those little pups" just you try and take away my kittens, I'll scratch your eyes out" I would give those pigs what for! this DVD lasts 90 minutes, and contains no extras or subtitles, but is not bad for £1 at my local supermarket. I'm going to giver this adaption 10/10 but it fails on the fact that the DVD contains no extras. this does not alter my ratings, as I enjoyed the story. yes the film did follow the book, but the song was changed slightly. How do businesses become like the pigs? the answer is, they make all the decisions for the companies, leaving the small company bosses powerless to control the company. in other words they become greedy! hence the phrase fat cats or in this case fat pigs!
I actually started to like orwell watching this movie. I was still a bit young (14), but had always liked history, so the picture was appealing. When I watched it, the message was very clear and despite later I formulated my own ideas about communism, it showed me the difference about this system and a dictatorship disguised. Was a good adaptation and in my opinion, the end was a conclusion about what really happened in the real life. The fact that they go back to the human control is more like a trauma to what they remember about their "freedom" with Napoleon. People tend to run away from the more recent trauma, having short memory.
... if you see it without blindfolds... if you see it just as it is, a fairy tale... just for kids... forget the story that supposed to be...If you take it serious like the most does, it is like a bad joke... Orwell have never been in USSR and what he knew about it was from stories that he heard from thirds... thirds like the traitors white Russians that escaped from Russia to england after Bolsheviks victorious revolution...So those stories were groundless and lies... After many years Orwell also proved to be a sting, that wrote down names of maybe communists, like Chaplin's and gave them at a semi secret British agency, so they could run them down... That was Orwell, just a big brother that put mad on the name of real heroes of the people, like comrade's Stalin...
