I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

Apart from some very inventive fight scenes, Mallika Sherawat might be the other thing you take away from this movie. The fight scenes are something you came to expect from a Jackie Chan movie. Mallika Sherawat on the other hand has not been exposed that much on film yet (not even on many Bollywood movies according to IMDb at least). Unfortunately the same can be said of her role in this movie. And her role in this is actually a filler. Maybe something to attract the Bollywood crowd to watch a Chan movie? Whatever the reasons, Jackie Chan delivers on the action and tries himself on an epic story. An epic story that juggles with the fun and the action part. Sometimes crossing lines that wouldn't be crossed in a regular (Hollywood) movie of the same spectacle. A decent effort, and of course a must see for any Chan fan.

I finally got down today and watched it since the song really drawn me into watching the movie. I have to say, this movie was really better than I expected. This isn't just another one of Jackie Chan's funky movie where he just being nice guy and all the sudden beats up everyone. This is totally different. I'm just impress that he actually took this role despite of his age. I was surprise that he looks quite cool in warrior armors. The action scenes were exciting and different compare to his past roles. Yes old Jackie finally stop slapping people with his hands and started slashing with a sword. I highly recommend people to see this movie if they didn't see it yet. The only thing that made me not give this a 10 is because of the ending. I really didn't liked it but maybe others will. Also I didn't think I would get into the romance party of the story, I mean come on, Jackie Chan is so old and the actress is like half his age, but to my surprise I actually did get into it partly because Jackie Chan looks younger somehow in plate armors. At last I have to say this movie is better than the ratings. But don't take my word for it, go see it and find out for yourself.

I've always been a fan of Jackie Chan. His ability to act serious and comedic has always been his strengths, this movie however was highly disappointing pretty stupid and definitely overrated. This story had potential but was poorly executed. Could have been good as 2 separate movies however combined make such a poor combination it can be compared to dipping lychee's in salt.On the one hand you have Jackie Chan in an epic love story past and present, dreams and millennium long promises waiting to be fulfilled. Epic battle sequences with adventurous archeology. However on the other hand you have Jackie Chan in his usual comedic self fascinated by dreams, action and comedy. Now if you add them together you have a serious script with added action comedy which ruin the mood, random useless scenes in India which in no way further the plot and instead a not very entertaining filler smack bang in the middle where crucial plot development could occur. The very beautiful Indian girl disrupts the main and real love story in the movie between the Korean girl. Sexual references in this movie especially when we see flashes of underwear from the Indian girl are quite inappropriate in this film. Sexual references with the Korean girl arguably could have been necessary.Tony leung kar Fai is a pretty horrible actor (well in this film anyway). He has no chemistry whatsoever with Jackie Chan. His presence weaken the plot and his fateful end leaves viewers with no emotion for him whatsoever, personally i laughed at his pitifulness. The action epic battle sequences in the Qin era were pretty impressive i must say especially the mountain of a Slain army.Quite a disappointing entry from Jackie Chan. This movie is in no way art-house, highly overrated and extremely poorly executed

Great cinematography and soundtrack. The acting is superb too, and I thought the out-takes at the end were a nice touch. There were parts of the movie that resembled a David Lean production. Five languages spoken in this movie - English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and (I think) Tamil! The costume design is reminiscent of Roman Army epics which make the columns of soldiers look very majestic - but their Chinese character is also retained. The movie takes part in two time periods - the Qin Dynasty and today. We are transported from one to the other through Jackie Chan's dreams. In the Qin Dynasty he plays the part of a general whose main responsibility is to protect a Korean princess who has been sent to serve as a concubine in the Imperial Chinese Court. Things get in the way of course, and the two time periods are brought together by a weaving of mythology which involves Indian temples and underground tombs at Xian. Well worth watching - but if you are not used to the genre you may find some aspects a little far fetched.
