As Good As It Gets
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Although not very sophisticated, this movie was supposed to be quite interesting. Some idiot in a forum mentioned it, otherwise i wouldn't know about it. I saw it in 2014, which means 22 years after it was made. Why would i want to see a 1992 movie in 2014? Well, i thought it was going to be some type of futuristic dystopia film. I thought i would check out what a 1992's take of such a future would be.In the beginning of the film i thought i was going to watch an interesting approach to a futuristic film. But almost immediately, the film turned into a weirdo cheap-horror type b-grade movie, with very stupid moments, incredibly ridiculous costumes and a scenario that really disappointed me.Overall a disappointment. I would not waste time on this if i was you, do something more productive, like scratching your back with a plastic hand or something.
Possibly the best possible post-apocalyptic scenario ever imagined. This film deserves all the credit for the Matrix trilogy, since the Matrix story is based (stolen?) on the very same idea. The Matrix trilogy is like a saturated version of this movie, with added salt and special effects. That's precisely why this film works. Because all the fighting/special timing effects hoopla in Matrix is essentially redundant with this version of the story. You get out of the Matrix, you are in for a very bad surprise: No Kungfu "savior" nonsense, after the exit. You are on your own. The outside world is brutal, relentless, and unforgiving. What's most interesting and satisfying, is that this mess has been created for your very own benefit: To make you understand to not ask questions you don't want to know the answers to. Terrific job.
Everyone knows me as one of the biggest Bruce fans around and i must say that "Mindwarp" was a very very very very bad movie...even by very very very very bad movie standards. It looks like Marta Alicia does nothing but whine all movie, and Bruce doesn't exactly give a knock out performance like he did in other lesser known Bruce movies like "Maniac Cop" (check that movie out!) plus the plot makes no sense and it actually visually lokes bad...avoid this and go see other Bruce classics like the Evil Dead Trilogy and Maniac Cop..thanks!
The prospect of seeing Bruce Campbell doing battle with cannibalistic mutants in a future underworld may sound fun. Well - despite a generous offering of gore - it isn't. This is a terrible movie, not to mention too ambitious for its budget. At least halfway though you'll get a chance to admire the heroine's impressive physique (it's the scene where she gets tied up) - be sure not to miss it, because you are certainly not going to admire her inept acting anytime.
