This movie faces criticism from people that this is a regular action comedy flick with no storyline but actually the fact is that they are unaware of the fact that this is Spaghetti Western genre. The story revolves around a fearless, humorous, witty Cop Chulbul Pandey(Salman Khan) referred to as Robin Hood by people he is loved by. In this sequel, he is promoted and transferred to Kanpur(a bigger city in the state of Uttar Pradesh) and he continues to be the same or becoming more fearless but is challenged by Baccha Yadav(Prakash Raj) who is the dreaded gangster in the city. Now what people don't know is that the protagonist in a Spaghetti Western suppose to have these witty, humorous and specialization in gun-fu skills. This genre was mostly used by American - Italian director Sergio Leone which made Clint Eastwood what he is today. I think this is a good (if not best) Spaghetti western made in India. If you closely observe the movie you would get the Spaghetti Western reference in this flick. Other Indian movies of same genre include Dabangg and Bullet Raja. While the Prequel was a better version of this genre but this is a good product.

Salman Khan dons his role as the ruthless, lovely yet destructive cop Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2. His sheer attitude, daring and star power is the biggest crowd puller. No wonder he is Salman Khan, the biggest mass entertainer in the history of Bollywood. His mere screen presence is enough to make the audience go gaga over him. Understanding this fact very well, his brother and debut director, Arbaaz Khan makes a movie where Salman gets the maximum presence overshadowing all other protagonists. The story takes place in Kanpur where Chulbul Pandey joins as new police inspector. The city is plagued by kidnappings, murder and rape by various goons. Acting as a savior of the city, he beats up the bad guys, gaining the love of the media and city. Meanwhile, he also plays the role of a loving husband, an obedient son to his father. Things turn ugly turn when he kills the younger brother of Baccha Bhaiya, the main antagonist of the movie. This incident invites the wrath of Baccha Bhaiya and he swears to end Chulbul and his family. But he is yet to see the anger of Chulbul Pandey, which he has unleashed in Lalganj in Dabangg. Can Chulbul pull it off for the second time in a bigger city? You have got to see it for yourselfThe only glue which holds the story is Salman Khan. With this cracking one liners, daring action and superb romance, he shines like a star in an otherwise dull and similar plot. Arbaaz does not even try to make any changes in the script. Every scene is like the first film. Same opening fight scene followed by comic dialogs and songs. Even the numbers of songs are same in the movie. But, this a Salman's show all the way. He does the action, romance, and small talk with Baccha Bhaiya and more. All other actors are fitted around his role. Even when he is absent for five minutes, the story seems dull. But nevertheless, all actors have performed as per the movie. Rajjo (Sonakshi Singha) his wife and his father Vinod Khanna have performed well. Arbaaz who happens to be his brother in the movie acts more like a dimwitted person. The songs are melodious. "Fevicol Se" may be little demeaning of women but it should be taken lightly, as entertainment only. All songs are choreographed nicely and are bound to make audience get into their feet. The cinematography has nothing new but good nevertheless. In my opinion, script is the only negative point as there is not any scope of a good story telling. Arbaaz Khan has given all the importance to Salman Khan, from his cool dialogs to his crazy shirt ripping in the last scene. But it would have been better to develop a good story which would have taken this franchise to a new level. Arbaaz debut job as director is commendable but I feel the direction of first movie by Anurag Khashyap is better. Still this movie is a full mass entertainer, which has the potential to break all records in Bollywood and leaving you wanting more of Salman.

Ever since multiplexes came into the picture (pun intended), I have missed the whistles and the catcalls, viewers getting up from their seats to dance on catchy numbers or clapping on one liners delivered by the hero. But, when a Salman Khan movie is released, you are guaranteed the audience will indulge in these antics right from the first scene. Rest assured you can definitely go in expecting to get your paisa vasool (value for money). A Salman Khan movie is not for the faint-hearted or pseudo-intellectual. You have to be passionate about the actor, love his antics and style to love his movies.Dabangg(2010) gave us a lovable super cop Chulbul Pandey and Part 2 completely banks on his popularity. Chulbul aka Robin-hood Pandey lives life on his own terms and is practically a law unto himself. He continues his fearless streak and headstrong attitude to take on the criminals of a higher stature in a bigger city. No matter what people say about the story, I believe it has been deliberately kept simple so that you can concentrate on Salman and Salman only. Chulbul Pandey carries forward his madness along with his band of, practical sometimes corrupt, side-kick cops who give amazing support to their lovable Super Cop.From the word "Go" you notice that this movie is more of hero worship, when the bad guys are totally in awe of Pandeyjee and willingly take a beating from the man with superhuman strength. You almost feel that the bad guys would rather be beaten up by the almighty Salman Khan than any other hero in the Indian Film Industry. From villains to the rest of the policemen, the street vendors to the journalist, everyone is happy to share the frame with Robin-hood Pandey. The rest of the actors albeit in a supporting role, most of them have been retained from the first part, I guess for the original flavor. Sonakshi Sinha, Vinod Khanna & Arbaaz Khan (also the producer) are basically family and add to an enhanced emotional side of Chulbul Pandey. The only other actor worth mentioning in a supporting role is the villain Prakash Raj as a corrupt, power wielding politician, who somehow failed to pose as a threat in front of the Super cop. Manoj Pahwa as the SP Police is actually the funny man in the film and gives great support to the comedy track.Music by Sajid-Wajid retains the original flavor of the first part and the song "Fevicol Se" shot with Kareena Kapoor and as expected has already become a huge hit effectively filling the gap left by "Munni Badnam". The action and stunt sequences are the fun part and generate the loudest whistles and claps.Though touted by a lot of critics as a film with weak screenplay, I would like to call it a heavy entertainer with heavy doses of action and larger than life portrayal of Salman Khan. The directors and producers have heavily banked on the star power of Salman and let him carry the movie alone on his shoulders, which has been a very intelligent move.If you are a Salman Khan fan, this movie is a must watch for you, and if you are not maybe you should watch it and finally become one.

Director Abhinav Kashyap positioned a fearless cop in rural India to challenge the vile criminals with the South Indian cinema inspired over-the-top action, item songs, goofy humor and dance moves. Salman Khan owned the character of Chulbul Pandey, the quintessential cinematic hero who rises at every occasion and dances at every opportunity. In all its ridiculousness, 'Dabangg' was an entertainer that brought a welcome change to the mass- appealing action genre. Little did Kashyap know that he would set off a wave of the South-Indian inspired films that took everything to another degrading level. Since there was no stopping the craze for the Robin hood Pandey, Arbaaz Khan took over the direction of the sequel and although it is quite obvious that he should refrain from any such future endeavors, Dabangg 2 retains some qualities that made its predecessor such a blockbuster. These qualities are namely dialogues and Salman Khan.Chulbul Pandey has been transferred to Kanpur, a city infested with the cunning unlawfulness of Bacha bhai (Prakash Raaj). While at home, he has light moments with his father, Pandeyji (Vinod Khanna), Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) and of course, the wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha). The funnier moments though, are with the Police force that jokes, dances and reacts to trivial questions. Bacha bhai needs to maintain a good image in public on the eve of elections and therefore, for the first half of the movie, he mostly ignores Pandey's quest to eliminate crime in Kanpur. His brother, Genda (Deepak Dobriyal) confronts Pandey briefly in a memorable stand-off that triggers Bacha's pursuit of revenge on Pandey. Till their final confrontation of mortal kombat, both vengeful Bacha bhai and Chulbul Pandey stroll through a plot-less, aimless street that is the result of Arbaaz Khan's involvement in film-making. Meanwhile, the burden of providing laughter and engagement is upon Salman Khan's shoulders and he can only go that far by himself without support from any of the film's aspects. As it turns out, Arbaaz Khan made it simple enough for himself. He replicated some elements of Dabangg that pleased the masses, song by song and scene by scene. That left the script, story, characterization, cinematography, screenplay and direction as an afterthought to signing up Kareena Kapoor for the train-wreck of an item number that was Fevicol. A song every 15 mins just leaves the audience in frustration as the plot moves an inch towards the cliff. Even Munni and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan couldn't save us from the boredom that the crudely choreographed songs blatantly outshone the trifling music by Sajid-Wajid. The characters who became memorable in Dabangg are now written with no bearing for evolution and the potential that such a star-cast could provide, goes to sheer waste. Prakash Raaj is an outstanding villain. As Jaykant Shikre in 'Singham', his evil was both cunning and powerful. Not to forget, his superlative comic timing. As Bacha bhai, his talent is wasted when the opportunity laid a fine platform for a memorable character like Chedi Singh. Perhaps that is where Abhinav Kashyap's direction is missed the most. Even though Chulbul Pandey seems like the indefatigable, shrewd cop who will remain a step ahead of his nemesis, the villain's character brings the balance to the film and keeps the audience engaged in the plot. But it all went wrong here. Deepak Dobriyal is delightful in his brief role and Vinod Khanna is hilarious as the gullible father. It is indeed difficult to ascertain whether Arbaaz Khan is a worse actor or director and let's just put it this way, that there are far better newcomers to choose from than Sonakshi Sinha. The Police brigade seemed to enjoy the film the most and one can easily tell. They provide the witty one-liners and jarring dances that make this style of cinema appealing to the masses. Upon Pandey's inquiry about the nation's worrisome future, a constable's opinion is truly hilarious; "Country on deathbed Sir, full kidney phail Sir."Alas, that is all that the movie has to offer to even make it a shadow of Kashyap's Dabangg. It entertains in similar fashion but offers nothing new or refreshing. Salman Khan is noticeably bulkier with minimal movement of arms, legs and neck. It really is time for him to wear one size bigger now. Yet, his dialogue delivery, expressions and persona of being the fearless hero that saves every day are what make Dabangg 2 bearable. There is no other saving grace unfortunately and it sets yet another example why this genre of movies is decaying rapidly. Hopefully, producers realize that the opening week collections alone do not decide the fate of a film. 150 Cr may have sent them laughing to the bank but Dabangg 2 has done very little for its cast, its audience and the genre of masala movies. 6.20 on a scale of 1-10.
