A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

I didn't pay too much attention at the start to the cast and quickly read what the film was about then got so immersed in the movie that I believed it was a real documentary. I believed Jessica was real and her best friend the nerdy Brian so convincing. Also the film crew and the way they approached the bully Avery...great reason for having the film crew there by the way. I don't cry at movies but I bawled at this one. Not into writing reviews either but had to review this one! Avery is so convincing as the bully, the liar and eventually having been found out, the girl who looks long and hard at herself and finds the good within. One thing I did not find convincing was the eyes at the end of the film opening. Jess had to have her heart restarted and the Dr told the parents all her organs were failing and that it was up to Jessica now. You expect her to die, then she wakes up. A more convincing line would have been for her to die. Sorry.

...by every single student and teacher! I think this movie should be part of school every year for every high schools, for every teacher, for every parent! People should spread this and make others be aware that what they say to each other is being heard and can hurt! People should be aware of this, bullying is a big problem in every state, in every country in every high school, even in elementary schools!People have to know that they can find someone to talk to! They can get help! Bulliers are not allowed to take over control, and they need to get help as well so they understand the problem! They need to really see what they are doing is not good!

It was definitely hard to watch, for me at least. But it's even harder for people who are or were bullies I guess, because they don't even realize most of the time what they have done. I was bullied through school and have been a victim for a long, long time: school, work, boyfriends, etc. It took me 10 years and therapy to heal to a point where I have somehow control over my decisions. But I'm sure that 80% of my problems have started with others bullying me and make me believe I'm ugly, dumb and worthless. As you can see in the movie, nobody cares or believes you until something really bad happens and they can't mistake a suicide for typical teenage behavior. The film shows us perfectly how ignorant some people are and how they just move on with their lives , leaving others suffer. We should educate teachers and students on bullying, talk about it in class. We have never ever done that in school and I think most of the schools don't do it even nowadays. This movie is a great start into a conversation. The film shows how dysfunctional many families are and how they don't get it what is happening. The bully's family is a bit of a cliché, that was the only thing bothering me, otherwise it was well-acted and showed the problem greatly. If you have a teenage kid or you are a teenager/teacher, I highly recommend it.

At first I thought the movie was actually a real documentary, only after googling the characters while watching the movie I discovered it wasn't real. The movie is based on a real story and is filmed as if it really happened to the characters in real life, but it is actually totally staged and scripted. I can't get over the fact how amazingly good this film is. I'm not overreacting if I say it is one of the most beautiful eye opening films I've ever seen. The script, the actors, the way of filming, the uncensored footage, everything is exactly how it is supposed to be! I think this movie will get close to home for everyone who has been a victim, a perpetrator or a witness of bullying. This will really wake everybody up, force them to take a look around and to stand up for themselves and/or others. It will hopefully even make bullies realize what they are doing to others, how they make them feel, hopefully causing them to stop doing so.I rate this movie a 10 out of 10 because I can't find a single thing that is wrong. It doesn't only tell one story, the one of the bullied child like usual, but also the one of the bully and the ones of the people that are close to them. It shows an overall, but nevertheless detailed, picture of the daily life in a high school for the bullied/bullies/witnesses. Not only in an American high school, but in almost every high school in every country. The documentary vibe the movies has, makes it even easier to envision how common this is nowadays, and how hurtful it can be. It happens a lot, most of the time without parents or teachers even noticing it. This film gives the perfect representation of the nowadays high schools and it will open up the eyes of a lot of people not noticing how terrible the lives of bullied people can be!
