A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

A flight is headed from England to NYC with limited passengers and crew. Mark Hamill, the top billed star has a minor role as the tower chief. He is almost unrecognizable from his glory days of saving the galaxy.The group of passengers are later described as a bunch of "red flags" i.e. bad guys who should not be on a plane. We also get to see a wooden crate in the cargo section jumping around as if something is in it. The passengers disappear one by one as others go look for them. The film starts out as a decent mystery thriller as we try to figure out who is killing people and why.Once this aspect of the plot has been explained, the killer revealed, the reason for the killings, and what is in the box, the movie shifts into a fairly bad horror thriller mode, one that reminded me a bit of "Fallen" a far superior film.The acting in the film was fine. The script could have used some work. I never "felt" it, perhaps the fault of director Dominic Burns who played the part of "Bob" in the film, one of the few likable characters, something the production lacked.Could work as an inexpensive rental.

This is one of those low budget British movies that drags in loads and loads of familiar faces so that their names can be plastered all over the DVD cover to hopefully shift a few copies. It seems to be made by the same sort of producers who released the likes of DEAD CERT and loads of other recent British gangster movies.AIRBORNE is a plane-bound horror-cum-thriller that mixes up both a tale of supernatural possession with a more conventional hijacking-turned-robbery. It's a story that plays its cards very close to its chest for the most part, refusing to reveal much to the viewer until the last 20 minutes; as a result it's the sort of film to start making you feel restless over the amount of questions asked (and lack of forthcoming answers). On the other hand, it's often tense and sometimes exciting, featuring some mild gore and plenty of twists to keep you watching. The production values are good enough so that you don't notice the lack of budget, and the strong cast helps.Mark Hamill is featured prominently on the packaging but turns out to have one of those boring "guy on the ground" roles, but the other cast members fare better. The wonderful Alan Ford plays to type as a gangster, Billy Murray is the usual tough guy, and Andrew Shim acquits himself very well as a soldier. The only weak spot in the cast is Gemma Atkinson who comes across as totally wooden playing a stewardess; who told her she could act?

Achieved exactly what it set out for. Great acting, directing, writing, cinematography, lighting, lightning, special effects, casting, vocal coaching, all around superb effort from the cast and director. Screenplay is from a new writer. Looking forward to his up and coming spy thriller.A credit to the genre and 2012 film making in general. The film should be regarded as exactly what it intended, nothing less, nothing more. In that view, it is a modern horror masterpiece, along the lines of Ghost Rig, Sunshine, Below, The Reeds. If you enjoyed any of these, this movie SHOULD NOT BE MISSED.Spiritual successor to Ghost rig, in multiple ways.

This movie is poorly made overall due to the bad script and rip-off special effects.The actors do their best with what they have to work with and there is plenty of eye candy. Mark Hamill was quite good, but seemed out of place in a U.K air traffic control building.Some of the special effects have been borrowed/leased from the Harrison Ford movie Airforce One. The external aircraft cut-scenes show that this supposed commercial airliner has the exact same livery as Airforce One. The footage of multiple F-15 jets following Airforce One has also been copied and pasted into Airborne.
