This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

I suppose I can detect the intended beats for laughter, but this movie plays more like the worst movie ever than a smart satire of horror movies like Scary Movie (2001) or Scream (1996). How can I describe what I just witnessed. Well, it was like they took all the horror movie clichés and dialed them up to 99, put the girls in gaudy costumes and had them say dumb stuff, hired Brad Dourif (Child's Play) to be a creepy scientist who has some kind of faux Necronomicon and some other weird stuff happens. OK, I was half paying attention. This was dreadful. There was nothing discernibly funny about it and I wished I was somewhere else. Unfortunately, I can't unsee this movie, or I absolutely would. 1/10.

Watching THE HAZING for the first time, I mainly found it very enjoyable, it has a very simple storyline and some scenes I found... well ... Check the scene involving a demonically possessed tongue and give your own opinion. Also a huge plus for this film, being that it is a B movie, it has decent characters, normally this kind of film or at least the B movie slashers, has so many lame and dull characters it makes the movie so boring you can chew the sofa, but this film has great characters and great character development, for a B movie As for director Rolfe Kanefsky, it seems he mainly put together a movie that was mainly fun and entertaining, and that doesn't take itself seriously at all, and he probably didn't intend on making it a crowd pleaser, he purees made a movie he wanted make and had fun with it in the process, I look forward to more of his projects in the future, he did a good job with a modest budget and has every reason to be proud.6 out of 10

With all the inane, witless garbage being released to theaters, it is always a shock to find a gem like this that for some ridiculous reason went straight to video. This film has style, originality, humor, imagination and intelligence. Not to mention decent direction, editing and acting. The characters appear at first to be your average stereotypical horror grouping of who-will-die-first-and-how?, and then the film throws all that away to keep you not only guessing but thinking. What more could one ask from a movie one has to pay to see in a theater? Except that you won't find this anyplace but the local video store. Forget big screen releases with super-serious A-list stars and nonsensical, hole-ridden plot lines, just go to the video store and rent this movie. The Hazing is for those who can appreciate clever, imaginative horror like Hostel or The Evil Dead series, and it is a shame this was never brought to box office.

Mindless slasher flick that accomplishes it's mission: entertain. We got plenty of hot women (Brooke Burke, Tiffany Shepis!), death scenes, and a cool setting. That's enough for a B-movie that airs on Cinemax at late night. The plot is somehow a rip-off "The Evil Dead" and "The Fear 2" but has it's own ideas. Also, it reminded me of "Popcorn". Anyways, the acting is not the best but the characters are symphatetic. Tiffany Shepis steals the show and carries the whole movie on her back. She's gorgeous. What a hot body... The rest of the cast is just okay. I wonder how Brad Dourif was convinced to make this movie. The director does whet he can. THe movie is eye for the candy mainly because of it's use of colors mixed with dark settings. The death scenes aren't inventive or gory but still were a nice try. The things to watch in "The Hazing": Brooke Burke's brief appearance. She wears the shortest mini skirt she found! She looked totally hot in that scene. Tifanny Shepi's butt is also something to check out. And the "Evil Dead" references. That's it. This movie isn't that bad. It deserves a watch only if you have nothing better to do.
