Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

What makes this show so popular? Energetic animation, colourful characters, slapstick. Is all that in the finale movie? Well, yes, but there is more to it than that. Apparently, a disastrous scam has wrecked the neighborhood, and the kids are trying to kill them. And I swear, that's how it begins. They decide now is the time to go visit Eddy's brother, whom Eddy mentioned several times throughout the series, in hope for protection. The subplots revolve around each of the Cul-De-Sac kids hunting down Ed, Edd n Eddy with the Kanker sisters protecting the latter. Like I said, the slapstick comedy, great animation and diverse characters are all present. What makes this movie really stand out is that they do something different with the characters. I'm not going to go through all the subplots, because it would take too long. I will say they take it to the next level. Rolf, my second-favorite character (Ed being my favorite) is plotting to "spit the Eds on his pitchfork." Yikes! Humorously enough, Kevin's bike is getting in the way of his relationship with Nazz. What I really like about this is that we learn a lot more about Eddy, the show's anti-hero, when Edd confronts him on his failed schemes. After... a "quicksand" prank, Edd yells at Eddy for his schemes that get him into trouble, resulting in an argument between them where Edd actually kicks Eddy onto his back, even deciding that he'd rather face the consequences for his involvement in Eddy's schemes than travel with him. The best part is where Eddy takes the blame for the disasters, and deep down, he thought he was a loser this whole time. Edd forgives him and the trio decide to continue looking after one another. The Kankers eventually capture the rest of the kids and all characters get to Eddy's brother's place. He seems cool at first, but we ultimately see him for what he is, a monstrosity of sadism. He tortures Eddy and everyone else, even the Cul-De-Sac kids stand up for him. Ed saves Eddy by making a door hit him. We finally see that Eddy was influenced by his brother, but just wanted to be liked by the other kids. Touched by this confession, the kids cheer for Eddy except Johnny, who attacks them, still thinking they're causing trouble. He's attacked by the rest of the kids. Finally making friends, the titular trio are even invited by Kevin to enjoy some jawbreakers. If Ed, Edd n Eddy is the perfect nostalgic modern show, then this movie is the perfect way to end it. I don't think there could have been a better note to end on. Oh, and Johnny becomes evil. So there's that. Perfect 10

This is an example of a terrific movie, TV or otherwise. I have never been drawn into a movie like this, and the animation is beyond anything I would've have expected from an animated movie. It has a great plot, and the writing is terrific. The only reason that I don't give it a 10, is because of the ending. Nothing that happened in the series or the beginning of the movie set up the ending they decided to put in. It completely changes things, which is crazy, even for the end of the series. But even then, this is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. And if you find the smallest amount of pleasure from watching the series, you will not want to miss this.

Sometime after "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" came out in 1999, I immediately became a big fan of the show. I loved how all the characters had their own unique personality, the great story lines, and the hilarious humor that each episode had. And now in 2009, the movie entitled "Ed, Edd, n Eddy's Big Picture Show" comes out and it is bigger and funnier than any of the episodes that the series had to offer. The story of the movie is about another scam that the Eds have come up with making a turn for the worse and now all of the kids of the Cul-De-Sac want to get revenge for what happened to them. The Eds come up with a solution that the only place that they will be safe at is where Eddy's brothers lives, so then they begin a journey to get there before the kids catch up with them.Aside from the humor and great story, the movie also offers some good references from the show that really brings back the memories from the old episodes of the series. The animation and character development was pretty good as always and some scenes, such as action sequence during the beginning, were very well written and directed. As for the ending, I won't spoil it for anyone but I will say this: it is an ending that the fans will very love. And although this movie marks the end of the series, it was great living the memories again.Rating: **** out of **** P.S. Stick around after the movie ends because there is an extra scene after the credits.

If certain theatrical films, like "the Lion King", "Finding Nemo", and "Kung Fu Panda", can be very successful and memorable in characterization and storytelling, then TV movies can be like that, too. And "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one superb example.Basically, the movie centers on the Eds searching for Eddy's brother after Eddy's latest scam backfires big time. (Only the Eds fans know exactly why the scam flops out - sort of.) And all the kids of the Cul-De-Sac have to track them down to avenge for themselves before those troublemakers can reach their destination. Aside from maniac animation and ultimate level of humor, there's one thing that hasn't been overlooked throughout the whole film: heart. The story of "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Picture Show" has been split into many parts: the Eds, Kevin and Nazz, Jonny and Plank, Sarah and Jimmy (later merged with the Kanker Sisters and Wilbur), and Rolf and Wilbur. But unlike "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa", there's a sufficient amount of story for each set of characters - not too much nor too little. It's all because of the superb sense of direction of the movie. Even the film is almost well-structured, too. (The beginning is a perfect example!) And it seems that the creative artists of "Ed, Edd n Eddy" had managed to take the TV movie to "the place it has to be" big time.So if you are looking for TV movies with superb comedy and heart, like "Escape from Cluster Prime" and "Rugrats: All Growed Up", then "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one best example to see.
