At first I thought I was watching some weird fetish film. For the first twenty or so minutes, the only food-related actions Ezra performs are consuming things in front of an audience, and sometimes regurgitating them to an inevitable audience reaction. Fortunately we soon get to the 'meat' of the film, and it is laughable. Imagine if Peter Parker had been bitten by a radioactive sandwich. This is what a great deal of his power looks like, including one shot of a slice of bread miraculously levitating from the palm of his hand. If you thought Avatar was a visual treat, just wait until you see this beauty!What else is there to say? The sets during the historical flashbacks look like they were already rejected from the community theatre, there aren't enough food-related puns, mainly just slapstick, and some of the actors are truly awful (looking at you, incoherently yelling golf coach). The final message seems to be not to pursue your ambitious dreams should life quite literally give you lemons.In conclusion, you will get what was advertised: a film about food oozing from the hands of a teenager.

I went into this movie thinking it was a spin-off of High School Musical (because hello Ryan), but it was so much more magical and pleasing than I had ever hoped for - take that Sharpay. Troy and Gabriella could never top the cinematic gift that "The Adventure of Food Boy" offers. Perhaps my favorite part of the film is where Ezra farts pastrami out of his hands during his campaign speech and runs to the bathroom in an uncontrollable panic as the meat, bread, and mustard force their way out of his body. The sound effects here are key to the success of the overall film in my personal opinion. My second favorite scene is during the talent show where Ezra attempts to make watermelon appear. However, his body becomes too weak to produce such a large fruit and instead, he squirts plain old water from his hands with the force of 10 fire hoses. The stage and his love interest become soaked, causing her to slip and sprain her ankle before her upcoming cross country meet which causes their confusing relationship to get even more complicated. The most frustrating part of the film is the fact that Ezra didn't appreciate his powerful gift. If I had the gift to make food and drink appear from my hands, I would A: weigh about 732 pounds and B: I build the stamina to solve world hunger but noooo. Poor little Ezra just wants to get into the Ivey League for personal gain. At first, he views his power as a curse. It isn't until later that he realizes he has been blessed with a gift. However, even then, he only uses it for personal gain and attention from his peers. Also where the heck are his parents? His grandma and grandpa must have their hands full, not only with food group one (legumes), but also with typical teenage mischief. I feel like they are too old to be dealing with Ezra and his selfish pettiness.Although I would have taken some of the plot in a different direction, I was seriously shocked when I got to the credits and realized that Spielberg wasn't the director. This film is pure genius. I think the sequel should include all of the characters from this film, all of the characters from "High School Musical", and all of the characters from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". That movie will be on the top of the charts faster than the popcorn will be able to pop.

excellent. Food. Boy. MAGIC! what do you mean I need 10 lines of text?! bullshit! I don't have anything more to add. It is all about food hands and magic. There is not much more to it. The boy is blond, typical American kid. Not like super pretty but tots alright you know. Not too much not too little. Could get kidnapped and when you See the fliers you'd be like "aaah i have probably seen him" but then you'd be all like "no wait he looks like EVERY OTHER KID, that's why i recognize him! duh!". Is this 10 lines yet? let me check. Nope line number 6. I really don't know what more write. OK the poster is cool I guess. It's like a superman copycat thing. But with bread you know, to match the plot. Looks like good tasting bread but you really can't be sure, it might be a bit dry. I work at a bakery so I know how to spot dry bread however this one is TRICKY! Actually this is all lies. I'm so sorry, I haven't seen it. But it seems awesome. I'm going to download it now. Not like "spend money on it"-good but definitely "spend 10 minutes searching for it online"-good. Heard my bud Hugh Grant likes it so thats a plus. Have you ever thought about his hair? It looks good but at the same time floppy and kind of not good?
