Best movie ever!
It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
In Houston, the aspirant to photographer Amie (Annabeth Gish) receives a complete Salsa and Mambo dancing course from her close colleagues and friends as her wedding gift. Her wedding with the wealthy and arrogant Jason (Daniel Cosgrove) is close and she intends to dance Salsa in the feast. Amie meets the Porto Rican instructor Nicholas (Kamar de los Reyes), and she feels a great attraction for him. When Nicholas bet with his former mate Cristina (Tessie Santiago) that he would teach Amie to be a great dancer, they daily train together for long periods and they fall for each other. Amie breaks with Jason, but is not sure about with whom she really wants to stay. What a delightful movie this "The Way She Moves" is. The story is very predictable, follows the success of other romantic comedies having the dance as the theme, but I liked this one a lot. The pair Annabeth Gish and Kamar de los Reyes shows a great chemistry; the Latin music score and the choreography are excellent; the conclusion of the romance is very funny; and the sexy Tessie Santiago is delicious, really a collyrium for the eyes. I found this movie surprisingly cute and pleasant and I really intend to see it again in the next future. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Ritmo da Sedução" ("Rhythm of the Seduction")
Absolutely, w/out a doubt, one of the most pretentious, idiotic, formulaic, pieces of unadulterated garbage to come from Hollywood in years. This one has everything- the "sultry" Latin dance instructor, the slutty companion, the overbearing mother, and of course, the "confused" woman (A. Gish). As for the fiancé', he is portrayed as the ultimate jerk, idiot, asshole, etc. You are directed towards the conclusion, & inevitable question, "why was she with him in the first place?" This is typical Hollywood- Justify her amoral, cheating, low-life behavior by showing the man she's committed to, as a HUGE mistake! One that she has to dump, just to "find" herself. Be afraid, be very afraid!!!
I loved this movie. I loved the story, the music and characters. I was lucky enough to get it and I watch it often. I really wished they had made a soundtrack to it. I would have bought it in a heartbeat. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves music and romance. This movie is great for the hopeless romantic and music lover. It shows how love can overcome anyone or anything that may be put before you. The best lesson to learn is we all have a right to make our own choices of whom to love. Its best to follow your heart and your first instincts most of the time you can't go wrong. The movie shows you should marry to love and love alone. Whether someone has money or not, does guarantee you a happy life.
movies I have ever seen....I simply loved the pairing of Annabeth Gish and Kamar De Los Reyes in this movie. They looked good together and danced well together. I can't imagine Annabeth not doing her best at any show or movie, but I have to say this was simply one of her best. I have to say that this movie deserves a big 9 and all of the stars in it as well...simply because I never say 10, no one is perfect. I would (okay I have) watch this movie over and over again. Romance at it's best right there on the screen.
