A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

I went to watch this film to see how Karan Johar makes a different kinda filmSadly he screwed it and proves why he is such an idiot Although he produced the film and it was directed by his assistant Soham Shah yet how he okayed such a film? The film tries 100000 times hard to scare the daylights of you sadly it looks fakeThe film starts off with a good music video and then gets to business The cut your crap type of comedy between Vivek and his friends is too wannabe and fake while the scenes in the jungle with every character poking their face on the camera is too bad The film has many loopholes we shouldn't even go there The women with little clothes, John shown as a National Geographical expert or something but knows nothing Then we have the lipstick wearing gay looking Vivek OberoiThe death scenes are too tepid while the Tiger scene with Vivek shooting is too fake and comical Ajay's entrance is well handled but the entire Vishal death is badly handled and a joke of SFX The climax is well handled but their chase is too stupid Direction by Soham Shah is bad Background Music jars Camera-work is okayAmongst actors Vivek looks gay and acts weird John is too stiff in his role Ajay is the only bright spot and he does a good job Especially towards the end Esha and Lara are cringeworthy Vishal Malhotra is bad while Kushal Punjabi irritates

i gave this movie a 5/10/... simply because i didn't think it was that bad..it could have been a lot better.... the starting song was nice to watch with SK even though i think they got some of the moves from the beginning of a jams bond movie..... but as the movie started and got to the middle...it got boring and even more boring... the movie starts to pick up a lot more after the death of Esha Deol...ha ha she fell down a well!!!... then the twist at the end is what made me give it a 5/10... one reason why i didn't really like it was... there was only two songs at the start and the end... which killed it... because every movie needs music... i suppose its an 'ok' film to watch.... but just don't watch it more then once...

Kaal- with all the media hype - classifying it as a thriller/horror movie sure came pathetic...truly one of the worst movies to ever come from Bollywood. What makes one wonder is how did it manage to go for a hit in India. Really, there has to be something definitely wrong with the Indian audience to have like a movie like Kaal. I mean, it was worse than Elaan(another movie better avoided). The first half of the movie was still watchable- though badly directed it was, but the second half, oh my god! couldn't understand what the director/producer had in mind. The background music, the worst i could've imagined- really not suited for the genre of the movie. Recently there have been articles in several magazines and newspapers that there's a sequel to the movie being planned. Well if that happens...I'm sure gonna promise myself one thing, to never see another movie produced by Shah Rukh Khan.

The hero of this film is Grrr.. And that too from Hollywood though he is making just a special appearance in one grand scene you get to know only when film is getting over but his Grrr… Grrr is there in background all through the film. Here, not just the tigers even the inspiration comes from Hollywood. This film is in the league of Indian horror "Ramu Classics"-Darna Mana Hai, Vaastu-Shastra etc so needless to say what is there in content, Here are some pearls of wisdom, which I tried to collect in the film considering theatre going audience are not bunch of fools who can be subjected to just about anything-(1) The sole purpose of Kaali (Ajay Devgan) is to kill all the friends then why in the first place he save them from tigers? (2) Krishh Thapar (John Abraham- save our Wildlife activist Valmik Thapar) is a guy from national geographic channel still he doesn't know that in national parks no one is suppose to smoke or even carry cigarettes. (3) Kaali, a tourist guide was killed by villagers and eaten by tigers in jungle, how come Krishh not aware about this incident when he is suppose to send to jungle by national geographic special for an important investigation purpose. (4) In the story, rains are already started still one finds all roads and roadways completely dry in the jungle. (5) How come forest officers are so casual that they can't frisk visitors and allow just anybody to go into a national park with a weapon? (6) How come there is no additional security at core areas in jungle where murders happened and yet area is allowed to be encroached by just anybody. (7) A wooden bridge over the river is loose yet when a guy tries to cross it by his jeep, all his friends remain seated in the jeep putting extra burden on the bridge, Enabling it to break down. A classic group of duds. (8) Look at Screen entry of Krishh, he chases and catches a python but when his cell phone rings he just drops him and let him loose, and gets busy on his phone (9) When Characters run away from well, it is dark. While they are running away in jungle there is sufficient sunlight. How come this miracle happened? On one hand, film talks about some vices of tourists and visitors at national park. On the other hand What a great way by our protagonists of glorifying this standard "Indian" practice of throwing cash to those poor cash-starved ones and get your way out, in just any matter? The two pretty gals, apart from showing their long legs and screaming at the drop of hat (they also happen to be love interest of our dear protagonists) I can't find a better example in recent times of portrayal of fairer sex in a most "balaji-regressive" manner. All this is not Kaal but "Akaal" of common sense. Dear producer duo, better to pull up your socks now otherwise the day is not far off when you will have to sing- "ye kaal kaal to kar gayi humein kangaal".
