Waste of time
It is a performances centric movie
Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Just finished watching this movie and taking in mind the fact that Istarted watching it at 5:00a.m. it gives you a pretty good clue thatthere was really nothing on T.V. but this seemed interestingenough. If you get passed the small stories within the stories youmight find it entertaining enough. Centered around a stunt gonewrong and a need to get away from it all, our "hero" escapes toNew Zealand for a much needed break form it all. Smalladventures evolve and our hero and has newly found selves findthemselves in one adventure after another. Not: If for nothing else, watch the movie to see Zoe Naylor, you'llthank me later.
Spoilers herein. This is the thinnest of excuses for inserting action scenes of different types. The approach is that kind used by TeeVee: we all know the artifice and play along for the sake of the stunts. This one is self-referential in having the main character be a stuntman. The drama stems from a stunt gone wrong, apparently intended to add to the risk of what we see afterwards which we all know will turn out okay.Along the way, we have various movie-type love stories. I'm interested in the way that redheads are used, especially in films like this. The stuntwoman who is killed is a redhead, as is the girlfriend in the second love plot, and also as is the sister's love child.Ted's Evaluation -- 1 of 4: You can find something better to do with this part of your life.
