Reviews
Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Is this second sequel to Pom Pom, Hong Kong detectives Chau and Beethoven join forces with Mr. Boo, played by comic legend Michael Hui) in a daring mission involving a jewelry heist and a museum caper. While the fun, physical comedy of Chau and Beethoven and tripled with Mr. Boo in the picture, much of the movie's plot lacks the captivation of the first two movies, as the story is sometimes lost in the uninteresting subplot of the relationship between Mr. Boo and his snobby and unfaithful wife. From what I remember, the action takes a while to generate much excitement and it seemed the detectives couldn't gain much traction in their cases at times. While it's not a horrible movie and the acting was decent, this sequel doesn't come to par with the other films in the series.Grade C-
