The Bloodletting

For Amanda Deter and her friends, life seems to be going great. Until one night when they cross paths with a mysterious vagrant, who warns them, a terrible evil is coming. The group disregards his warnings as nothing but drunken nonsense. But the next day when they find the vagrant dead, it is already to late to heed his warnings... Now Amanda and Derek must try and save their friends from the brutal killings of an elusive vampire. With several friends already dead or missing and Amanda's boyfriend Jonathan no where to be found, they are running out of options... and time! - Written by Shaun Paul Piccinino

Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

I partly agree with what Schiccatano says. This does not deserve a 1.It should have been a 0. After reading the ridiculous comment by Schiccatano, I deliberately gave the lowest rating possible.Funny, the secretary of the film company stood out to make a comment, instead of letting the movie speak for itself. Schiccatano mentioned nothing about the script, the acting, or the cast, all of which are poor in this movie. Instead, Schiccatano rambled on and on about how 2 people made the movie with little money and how much money they were making nowadays, and insulted reviewers who gave 1, basically calling them losers without a life.Know this, Schiccatano. The audience has the freedom to give the rating they want to give, and it is not up to you, or any spokesperson from a film production company nobody has heard of.I know that you feel the need to defend the product of the company you represent. But know this: neither you or your company owns the internet, an open platform where all sorts of opinions abound. If you don't like what you read, then simply quit reading online reviews.Last but not the least, give me a good script and I'll direct. I'll wipe the floor with this movie.

The Bloodletting is a "B" movie. Obviously! But never does it deserve a "1" IMDb Rating. Period. This film won a large festival based on these facts: Four man Crew, Written in 9 Days (12 pages per day), made with a ZERO budget, decent fight choreography, Written, Directed, Choreographed, Edited and starred in by Jeremy Dunn and Shaun Piccinino. "That's Two people Friends! Again, TWO PEOPLE! Two people who are only 27 Years old Too! Yet they still got a World Wide Distribution deal." So, I pose the Question to all the Haters giving really low ratings... "Can You Do Better? If so, with a Zero Budget?" I highly doubt it. If so, prove it. Nonetheless, if you CAN do the same and CAN back it up with facts, thus proving a zero-budget, completed, feature film WITH a worldwide distribution deal... then vote what you will. However, if not, if you have never made a film before and are just some kid under 30 who sits around all day and gets a kick at bashing people who have completed more than you ever will in the Film Business... then "Get a life." Don't bash unless you can do better, otherwise, you are no better than a sour, bitter... hater. Take the movie for what it is worth and appreciate it.To Move on, let me inform the Public, mainly the Haters, about these two nice gentleman filmmakers Jeremy Dunn and Shaun Piccinino. Shaun Piccinino is now making about $75,000 per year as an editor and visual effects specialist for Seth Green's HUGE effects company "Shadow Animation." Since the Bloodletting, Shaun is prepping for his next Feature film of which he has been offered $500,000 dollars to make. Additionally, Shaun has worked under Drew Carey, George Lucas and Seth Green... just to name a few. As a matter of fact, Fox news channel has even tried to hire Shaun for his talents, which speaks volumes considering that Fox News is the Most Visual Effects Filled, highest paying news station in the WORLD! Nevertheless, I could go on and on, but I will not. Jeremy Dunn is still acting and has made appearances on the show "Justice," "CSI" and "CSI Miami," Jeremy also doubled Robert Patrick in the upcoming action comedy "Balls of Fury" starring Christopher Walken... and has doubled Garrett Hedlund (Billingsly) in the Famous Football movie "Friday Night Lights." Likewise, Jeremy starred in the 24 Million Dollar Budget Video Game "TRUE CRIME: Streets of New York." He played and did all the Motion Capture for Marcus (The Guy on the Cover of the Box), Christopher Walken's Character and many other personalities in that Game. Moreover, he is currently the assistant editor on a Rob Schneider Feature Film Called "Cornerman," which already has Oscar Buzz, due out in 2007. Rob's production company is working along side Jargon Entertainment (Sub Company for My Name is Earl) to finish the post-production. Jeremy and Shaun have now been cast in Jargon Entertainment's next two Feature Films. -This is just the beginning. At any rate, keep Doing well Shaun and Jeremy, keep making that money! As for the haters, get a life, a job, then buy a camera, and try to make a film... THEN compare it to The Bloodletting. After your film is completed, see if you are immediately offered a full time Job in Hollywood alongside a $500,000 dollar movie deal... like The Bloodletting Filmmakers did. Oh, and remember Mr. or Mrs. Hater... "Real Hollywood people, recognize raw Hollywood Talent with potential." That is why they are here and you are there. Sonya Schiccatano, Secretary, Colapsar Entertainment (The Production Company of "The Bloodletting.")

The acting was ridiculous(especially the English bloke. is someone having a laugh?), They may as well have been holding scripts in front of them. And i think they forgot to tell the cameraman about camera zoom cos he'd zoom in on the girls face then pan out to the blokes when they having a conversation. And also, one of the guys who gave it a ten had the justification that "it was good acting for amateurs". Well i'm not sure that that complies with the rating system. This is the sort of film to give hope to every aspiring film-maker who wants to direct. To be fair, it was so bad that we ended up cracking up at all the shoddy acting so it was an OK comedy i guess.

I like B movies, and this one was not the best, but definitely worth my $5.00 ... contrary to one of the posts I read before seeing this film. I loved the fight sequences, thought the acting was mediocre, thought the lead Vampire did a good job, thought the score was alright, hated the back-lighting in the opening scene (though it got better right after that), got scared a few times, laughed a few times, got angry a few times (dude, don't get out of the car!) ...and, well, good job and I am glad you guys can make a decent film with no money, and get distribution! I say this because I live in LA, & saw this film while visiting family in Canada... do you have domestic distribution yet? Anyway, well done...
