Simply Perfect
Please don't spend money on this.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
This movie is badly acted. The story line is awful. The ending is awful. It is very gross and not scary. It is very cheap. It is so cheap that it is found footage movie. And that is cheap. 4.4 is a good ratting. But this is such a bad movie 4.4 overrating it. I give 1. It is awful. I do not why people keep give it a 5. They most like being bored of grossed out. Do not see this awful movie. This is one of the worst horror movies of all time. I only give a 5 to the horror movies that are scary. If you are scared of this then you great scared of you own shadow. If you want to see a good horror movie see Psycho. Do not see this.
I saw the release of cannibal ferox on blu ray and in one of the extra features they mentioned this movie. Its supposed to be an homage to the 80s cannibal movies. To call this a bad movie is an under statement. The only positive thing about this film is that it is short. There are 0 scares in this film and more then anything its boring. You will see over 50 minutes before anything happens. Yes you will be watching 4 people argue and fight in the jungle for over 50 minutes before you get any kind of action. Why they have an unrated version of this is beyond me. There is hardly any gore and there is an entire ending scene that is so dark its hard to see what happened. This is a horrendous film that should be skipped at all costs. It is NOT a homage to the cannibal films of old its just a bad film. I repeat skip it at all costs.
Almost as if the Culprit responsible for making this absolute horror of a film (Johnathan Hensleigh) had never done so before and perhaps once saw a film (Cannibal Holocaust) & thought 'That looks easy, I could do that'.Yes, he succeeded in his attempt at an attempt to make a film, but the end result was not, (as a review on the DVD cover claimed) 'the most horrifying film of the last decade', but actually and in it's sheer essence, the most horrific excuse for a film I may ever see, I hope (although a good rant is always quite invigorating). Not one of the characters in the film seems to possess even the slightest hint of regard for any of the potentially life threatening situations they are hell bent on launching themselves into. Not even their initial encounters with the Natives seem to register on their Danger radar (knowing all that being a cannibal entails - the way Cannibals insist on conducting themselves in public, eating habits etc;) They have a completely unrealistic disregard for their own safety/lives, which makes it hard to take anything they say or do seriously & putting a modern-day Blair Witch slant on a unique cult shocker just wont cut it.Lights, Cameras (#1 & #2), Action, Cut, DVD, Bin.
"Welcome to the Jungle" tells the story of four spoiled and obnoxious Americans who set out into the jungles of New Guinea armed with a few digital cameras to find the missing Michael Rockefeller and make themselves rich by getting an exclusive interview with him. Of course they are captured and killed by the tribe of savages.I must admit that the story is fairly convincing and the location sets provide some spooky atmosphere, but the characters are dumb and annoying.I really wanted them to suffer painful death just not to listen their constant whining.Almost complete lack of gore and nudity is very disappointing. While Jonathan Hensleigh has denied that his film has anything to do with Ruggero Deodato's infamous "Cannibal Holocaust" the similarities are obvious(check out the girl impaled on bamboo stick). There are a couple of moments where the graphic special effects are actually done quite well, but the inane dialogue and my general hatred for half the cast reduced my enjoyment.Better watch "Cannibal Holocaust","Eaten Alive" or "Jungle Holocaust" again.
