everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Absolutely the worst movie.
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
The Director has a good eye for shot composition, and the pace of the film was good. Moved along well. Main setback was the lack of character development for the male lead. He was generally unconvincing up against the solid performance by the female lead Leisha Hailey. As a result of his lack of authenticity, the transition he goes through into the more evil version of himself felt forced, unnatural and unjustified. A symptom of bad casting, writing, editing (essential parts of his development could have ended up on the cutting room floor) or bad acting. The sound design was good but the dialogue had issues. Better sound recordist needed, or quieter locations, or a better dialogue edit, or a bunch of ADR sessions would have helped here. Not sure which dept was at fault. Ahh yes, you guys heard of this thing called "Denoise"" RX4 would have helped clean up your noisy recordings.Overall it was compelling, only for the strong female lead. All other casting in the film was mediocre.I loved the drift away section in the party scene. Total Magic !! Spend more time looking for the right actors and put some money into hiring a more seasoned casting department. Even on a low budget, if you put the time in, more ideal actors will emerge.
Fertile Ground (2011) Been on my watch list for a while, Couple move to home after the wife losses her baby, then move they move to a new house, Then wife see strange thing start to happen around the house and husband dose not believe. This movie felt like every other haunted house movie I have seen, I felt that didn't really got ground , this movie didn't not feel scary for one second, the whole movie was bit bland. It could be really boring no real plot in the movie, it could the be really bad script (Half of it didn't even make sense or it could have been the really bad acting from everyone in this movie, i would say all of the above. I wouldn't say the worst haunted house movie but it as got to be one of the most boring ones i ever seen. 4 out of 10
FG starts off exactly how all movies should begin - but almost never do: with a pair of breasts. Only 37 seconds into the movie we get to see them. And that's all one needs. No long lines of dull dialogue to "introduce the character". Seeing her breasts made me understand her character immediately. I suddenly knew all that I needed to know. No need for long expositions, for the exposing of the boobs was ideal. And try finding a movie that is quicker in delivering female nudity. Most porn films take more time.Any time a horror film ends with the main character alone in a loony-bin cell, looking lost and confused, you know you've just seen a forgettable movie. The grand finale was anything but. It was totally cliché, with no real surprises, no twists. FG would have been a much worse film if it weren't for Leisha Hailey (and her wonderful breasts). She held the film together.Additional congrats to Leisha for disguising her lesbianism so well. She never let it on for a moment.
I'm always on the search for new horror movies and they generally fail to make me finish the film and feel scared or, more importantly, think "that was a great film".This one is just the same. I think if you're looking for some horror and have come to the expectancy I have (5-7/10 max), then this is OK to play something for the night. My tip is simply... not to watch the trailer! Just like all crappy comedies, instead of all the best jokes being in the trailer... all of the jumpy parts are in the trailer. This makes it really lack anything in the fear factor!Worth a watch if you want to watch a basic horror, but its nothing special.
