Reviews
Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Actors Shui-Fan Fung, Eric Tsang and Pak-cheung Chan play three romancers in this intriguing comedy who enter show business and join the ratings-struggling Chow TV station, run by Lao Chow (Hoi-Pang Lo), to boost their careers and attempt to each court an aspiring actress and a beauty pageant candidate. While Chow TV's ratings improve, their competing competing Channel 8 TV concocts a scheme to try to sabotage Chow TV's productions. This film is full of laugh out loud humor, from Stanley Fung's laughing spell to Pak-cheung Chan's vampire disguise. This film also spoofs several scenes from other movies including An Autumn's Tale and Prison on Fire. I also especially like the fiery character Miss Mui, played by Wan-Si Wong. Her chemistry with Stanley Fung is classic and humorous. All sorts of other highly acclaimed Hong Kong actors appear including Andy Lau, Elizabeth Lee, Carina Lau and Jing Wong - each delivering some dramatic performances. It's a HK comedy like no other. Go check it out!Grade B+
